   Sulamith Wulfing's Blurbs
About me:
Internationally acclaimed artist Sulamith Wulfing was born in 1901 in Wuppertal-Elberfeld, Germany and had her first exhibition of paintings there in 1923. During WWII, she was forced to flee the Nazis with her son and mother, and the family experienced a number of tragic events before they were reunited at Christmas 1945. (She was convinced that only the spiritual support of her teacher, Jiddu Krishnamurti, kept her from the concentration camps.) The years after the war were filled with intense artistic activity and publishing. She died in March 1989 at the age of 88. She had this to say about her work:

"My drawings are a visual representation of my deepest feelings - pleasure, fear, sorrow, happiness, humor. And, to people attuned to my compositions, they may well be mirrors of their own experiences. It is because of this that I have left the explanation of the drawings completely to the viewer, so that they are not bound by my interpretation of what each picture should be. For me it is not a matter of creating illustrations to fit nursery rhyme themes. My ideas come to me from many sources, and in such harmony with my personal experiences that I can turn them into these fairy compositions. My Angels are my consolers, leaders, companions, guards. And dwarfs often show me the small ironies and other things to make me smile even in life's most awesome events.

My point is this:

People who make music should be so dysfunctional they can't string a tour together without being molly coddled the entire time, let alone play every money spinning festival on the circuit to an inane and rapturous response...

Furthermore, there's a plague of bad professionalism in music. The whole game is being high jacked into becoming a badly over organised circus, run by sensible, well balanced people with degrees in Music Management - people who love to balance books and run marketing campaigns as used by their new media friends for selling boxes of washing powder...

Maybe this is a good thing??

Maybe the world is alright now because we have disposable everything and no ideology other than SPEND SPEND SPEND!

Maybe people don't need to vent any more??

Maybe the world's got better and we should be simply happy with that and accept that music will decline...??

But that's clearly not the case, it's just that people are far better trained and controlled nowadays to be happy with what they're given...

Oh well....

Strength

Strength is more than Physical power.
It is an intellectual and moral force.

It is being tough enough to stay the course.
Strenght is the detmination to follow through.
Think about the power of water to carve out stone.
Consider the sapling's fragile system compared to the roots of an old oak.
Be strong.

"The energy of everything flows like the great rivers of the earth, naturally rolling and splashing, slipping and spiraling through the paths of least resistance toward the swelling, dreaming sea. Our life began in the waters of our mother's living womb. Grandmother Moon pulls and releases the ocean tides and the water in our bodies allowing energy and intuition to flow freely through our feelings and our spirits. Water has memory and is alive, responding to our emotions and healing old sorrows, teaching us playfully to release and renew. Water evaporates from the sea and transpires from trees to return as cleansing, life giving rain. All life needs clean water to survive. The spirit and sacredness of water is honored by all people who respect life. Swimming or floating in pools and lakes, streams and rivers our bodies and bright spirits receive the wisdom of water, honoring our emotions, remembering the love and mysteries of our source, embraced in wholeness and serenity."

~ Lichen June, "Wild Magic."

May water bless you with wholeness and serenity.

the same question stands open from the days of Socrates and Pilate down to our own age of wholesale negation: is there such a thing as absolute truth in the hands of any one party or man? Reason answers, "there cannot be." There is no room for absolute truth upon any subject whatsoever, in a world as finite and conditioned as man is himself. But there are relative truths, and we have to make the best we can of them.

... the ethics of Theosophy are more important than any divulgement of psychic laws and facts. The latter relate wholly to the material and evanescent part of the septenary man - the Ethics sink into and take hold of the real man - the reincarnating Ego.
We are outwardly creatures of a day; within we are eternal.

Blavatsky Coll. Wr. XII, p. 156, third letter to the American Convention
