LA based Imaginary Friends paint a musical canvas lush with texture and rich with engaging rhythms. The new CD, "Fragile Illusion" is highlighted by the stellar vocals and trademark harmonies of front women Stacy Robin and Donna Rawlins & showcases the strength of their collaborative and individual song writing talents. Longtime friends, Stacy and Donna have crafted a deliciously edgier complement to their earlier release "What If". "Fragile Illusion" embraces a wider range of style and emotion with an insightful take on contemporary issues and a fresh viewpoint on the complexity, fragility and resilience of the human spirit. Stacy’s homage to loving and letting go, "Happy For You", kicks off the CD with poignant lyrics and haunting vocals. Aggressive hooks and passionate styling color Donna’s commentary on violence in "Burnin’ Down". From the bluesy groove of "Let Me Be Your Angel" to the world beat percussion of "Fire (Touch The Sky)", these singer/songwriters have woven a multi-colored tapestry bound together by the thread of the ’Imaginary Friends’ sound: uplifting, enchanting, and energizing organic pop. Tom McCauley (guitars/vocals/musical arrangement), Barrie Berg (percussion), David James (violin/mandolin), Dayna Franklin (drums) and Mike Yorky (bass) are the lineup supporting Donna (vocals/guitar) and Stacy (vocals/percussion.) A wealth of guest performers also helped bring these songs to light. Producers that contributed to this project include Platinum Award winning Mark Keefner of Waymo Music and Gold and Platinum Award winning Robert Feist of RavensWork. The material on "Fragile Illusion" measures up to the high standards of these accomplished songwriters. Stacy and Donna have had numerous songs placed in TV and Film including: TV shows “Dawson’s Creek”, “Felicity”, “Passions”, “Melrose Place”, and “That’s Life”; Movies "The Stranger Beside Me", "And Never Let Her Go" and "Turn of Faith"; and commercials for Gateway Computers, Southwestern Bell and Walmart.
Chelsea (12 years old) performs Beethoven and Chopin at a church. Different musicians got together to share each others talents. It’s normally called a shed. Chelsea thought it was comical to hear other musicians reacting to her performance. Check it out.
Hey guys! Check this out! I'm singing as a guest artist with the band Present Tense at The Biltmore Hotel! Come by and hang if you can, it's FREE! :) - Evonne
Every Christmas season, I find myself wondering, what kind of a kid was Jesus? I mean, after he got himself out of the manger? We shot this video in 1992 with my daughter Willow. It's won some awards and is used in churches, temples & Sunday school classes. It addresses homelessness and caring for each other on this planet. It's called WHEN JESUS WAS A KID. Feel free to pass this on to friends and family. Happy, merry, warm and loving holidays to you and your loved ones. Bye for now - Peter Alsop
