Heroes
Jesus Christ, my Mother (may she rest in peace), Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (RIP), and all the peacemakers of the earth and the meek at heart. People with compassionate hearts and "do something for someone else" dispositions easily gain my respect and admiration. Those that are oppressed and yet, remain within an honorable realm are my heroes, for I too, have been there. I have immense respect for Oprah Winfrey and all of her philanthropic endeavors. She has also walked through the flame and emerged as a Phoenix (as so many of my fellow Black sisters so seemingly effortlessly do, though the journey is indeed, more often than not, arduous). My life is truly a Cinderella story. In knowing this, I walk a path of TRIUMPH. One of my favorite quotes is "The last shall be first and the meek will inherit the earth."

Imagine That! with Robin Richie HARVESTING RICHES Posted at 12:09 AM Sep 18 from Mobile view more
For more than two decades, savvy native New Yorker ROBIN RICHIE has been hailed throughout the entertainment, fashion, and cultural arts communities as an accomplished artistic director, modern jazz and hip hop choreographer, fashion show director and commentator. From “live” concert and stage performances, celebrity tributes to voice overs, audiences are left captivated by her undeniable signature of excellence placing Robin at the forefront of her peers and competitors. This extensive skill base is multi-dimensional in scope and creatively interwoven with the private instruction she provides to teens and young adults in musical theatre, fashion runway etiquette (the self-coined "fashion theatre" is her signature), and other creative arts genres.
At only age 15, Robin's passion and natural ability for the stage became evident. Inspired to pursue her theatrical interests further by her drama coach while attending Pratt Institute, Robin was enrolled at New York City’s prestigious Herbert Bergof Studio. There, she continued her study of improv and was later introduced to the theory of "method" acting. HB Studio boasts a long list of distinguished and seasoned professionals including stage/screen actors Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, Liza Minnelli, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, John Leguizamo and choreographer/producer Debbie Allen. It was at HB Studio that Ms. Richie discovered that one could actually become a "Jack of all trades, and master of a few."
After performing on stage and runway modeling for more than a decade, Ms. Richie began to pursue her growing need to produce and to direct musical, theatrical, and fashion productions. This helped to fulfill her desire to enable talented individuals to have a platform to shine. The recipient of countless awards in recognition of her work, Robin's celebrated original works and productions include, but are not limited to; the first televised Tri-State Idol Vocal Talent Competition (2003); Diva Defined: Dispelling the Myth and Redefining the Fantasy, a fashion theatre presentation examining the “diva” dichotomy (2001); Decades Of Fashion – A Chronological Look At Fashion In The 20th Century comprised of music, comedic/satirical sketches, dance and fashion (1998); A Newark Wish for Christmas, a modern urban musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic “A Christmas Carol” featuring an all children’s cast (she also wrote the musical score for several of the songs) (1997); A Tribute to the Legendary Josephine Baker Road Tour, a musical and fashion showcase highlighting the career and civil rights accomplishments of Josephine Baker (1995); and "A Tribute to The Legends of Motown Musical Revue” portraying Diana Ross featuring the legends of Motown (1987).
