About me:

..
Live Independent Listener Supported Music

Like Independent Radio,
the music at Terrapin Station is supported by audience donations.

As a musician,
it is a place to share the music with an audience that comes to listen.

Together, we can expect something amazing!

Offering wireless internet, a coffee shop, massage therapy, yoga, natural health products and live music! Walking into Terrapin Station, one gets a sense that it’s not “business as usual”. Owners, Brian and Stacey Skinness have created a multi-dimensional space to pursue and share their passion for music, art, wellness and a spirit of community.

“I can’t believe that this is in Nevis” is the phrase most often heard.

Terrapin Station is a boutique listening venue with a comfortable capacity of 50-80 people. Our mission is to create an inspirational sound and visual environment that engenders an exploratory musical spirit. We care profoundly about live independent music and take a musician's first approach.

High quality live studio recordings and video is available this year for bands that play at the Station.

Book a show with a recording package and the audience donations help cover the cost!

    Hey there!!

    What's new in your world???????

I was going to go camping over the weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.

Speaking of music, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a project called Sonic Transformations. It is a series of audio-visual performance pieces. The first one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". It features live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.

Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.

    Here's the info:

Blood Root Mother - "An Object to Crave"
w/ The Magnetrons & Thought Thieves
    Friday, October 16th
    Station 4
    201 E 4th St
    St Paul, MN 55101
    9pm / $5 / 18+

We'd love to see ya there!

    Peace,
    Elliot

    Brian
I'm sure there are people who would come. In my email with Roy earlier in the year the price he had suggested was less than that, and he was going to be traveling. I don't know if that's something we can work out, either way I'll look out for that date.

    Thanks.

Hey Brian, I don't know if you got my Facebook message, but I'd like to do a live recording sometime in the near future. I just need to know rates and a date.

    Thanks man.

    Hi Brian,
I so wish I was touring near you this year, but unfortunately the nearest I'll be is Kansas City. I really loved playing Terrapin Station the last time I was there.
I do hope to make it out your way in Summer of 2010!

I hope all is well with both you and your wife,

       Brian

    Hello!

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.

There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:

Let us know what you think!

    Peace,
    Elliot
