I Married My Highschool Sweetheart is the brain-child of Atlanta-based musician Trevor Dowdy. A multi-instrumentalist, Trevor is a veteran of the Atlanta indie music scene, having played in band after band (Manchester Orchestra, Two Week Notice, Parkside View) from the time he was only 15 years old. He added to his musical arsenal by working as a producer/songwriter/programmer along-side Jeremiah Edmond of Vintage Song Studios.
Five years ago, Trevor began a project of his own creation... spending late nights, alone in his room, like a mad-scientist, tweaking whatever cheap equipment he could get his hands on, until he got song after song out of his head and into his computer.
The project began to build somewhat of a cult-following as these songs would be passed around through the underground on burnt cds mysteriously labeled "I Married My Highschool Sweetheart." The songs spread like wildfire, from person to person, computer to computer, iPod to iPod - exchanging, trading, burning... and then the music stopped.
Trevor took a break from the local music scene to study classical guitar full-time, in Abilene, Texas. He continued to write and record, however, and tested the waters even further with live performances, which were incredibly well-received by the small Abilene music scene.
Well, now he's back in Atlanta, and he's brought an electronic-pop masterpiece with him. Discover the Atlanta underground's best kept secret when Favorite Gentlemen releases I Married My Highschool Sweetheart's incredibly anticipated debut album, "Laugh Out Love" on June 3rd, 2008.
