Born, raised and tempered in the city of Los Angeles, Imiuswi Aborigine is an artist that expresses in multiple forms, from emceeing to beat making, innovating in styles beyond. A writer with a mind of a philosopher, her lyrics entertain, scold, enlighten and enliven, touching upon the many moods and mind states of the urban individual.
Gaining recognition as the sole female member of the Los Angeles based Global Phlowtations Artist Committee, Imiuswi established an international presence on such releases as, Phlowtation Devices and 98 Unheard, both classic underground Hip Hop albums. With the bulk of her accessible recordings recognized as collaborations, Imiuswi has appeared on various commercial releases with notable artists such as SACH of the Nonce, ORKO the sykotic Alien and the critically acclaimed production duo, Amon Contact. As a writer and performer of individual merit, Imiuswi has voiced her writings in the form of spoken word and lyrical oratory, participating in the city wide World Beyond Baroque Poetry Festival in 2001, broadcasting live in concert from the KPFK 90.7 Pacifica Radio Station on the Mark Maxwell RISE show, and performing at numerous cultural events, festivals and performance venues throughout the city of Los Angeles.
With the creation of her first self produced solo album, Lost Angels Found, Imiuswi has ventured to define herself as an artist, performer and producer of distinction. Evolving from electronic production and recording, Imiuswi has merged with musicians on drum, bass and guitar, forming the band, IMIUSWI HIP HOP DOCTRINE. Presenting a live sound show yet unseen in the Hip Hop arena, IMIUSWI HIP HOP DOCTRINE is void of profanity yet laced the urgent temperment distinct to the socially progressive urban experience.
