Imminent Music Force is a record label devoted to the integrity of rock, metal, and progressive music. Officially formed in Ohio in 1992 by guitarist, MICHAEL HARRIS and his ARCH RIVAL bandmates, the label, originally known as “I.M.F.”, stemmed from the previous moniker, “Windmill Records”, which first released the stunning “In the Face of Danger”, from ARCH RIVAL in 1991. Shortly thereafter, AR completed their follow up to “ITFOD”, entitled “Wake Up Your Mind”, and this critically praised disc became the first release of Imminent Music Force in 1993.
Shortly after moving it’s headquarters to Dallas, TX in 1994, musician / entrepeneur, John C. Purdom became the president of Imminent Music Force. He had this to say about his new label’s chief artist, MICHAEL HARRIS:
“I, myself, am constantly astounded by each new work Michael brings to the world of music. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to categorize Michael’s style as an artist. All of his work could be considered “progressive”, but that brush paints a broad stroke. Certainly, “prog”, or progressive music is at the core of this artist’s soul, but he is a master of metal, neo-classical, fusion, and frankly, any other style he chooses to pursue. He is the consummate player, mastering every style on the instrument, but so much more than that, Michael is a well of musical creativity that continues to overflow with luminous composition. A frequent challenge as president of IMF Records is most extraordinary for a person in my position… That is, to coax Michael out of the recording studio and onto the live stage. If Michael were given three lifetimes, it would not be enough to include all of the music he has in his head and heart. His dedication to the art is all consuming.”
“It is not surprising that a musician of this level of brilliance would draw other exceedingly talented artists to share in his musical vision, and a quick review of the remarkable musicians that have played with Michael on his many recordings provide testament to this fact. Michael has consistently drawn the cream of the crop in each of their respective fields, and is frequently asked to lend his talents to the works of other great artists.”
The first TX release from Imminent Music Force became the brutal “Encyclopedia of the Insane” from SURGEON, a Dallas based metal band, featuring MICHAEL HARRIS, vocalist Len Jarrell, (previously of Watchtower), Matt Thompson (drummer of King Diamond), and James Martin (Solitude Aeternus bassist). “EOTI” was met again worldwide with critical acclaim, and the band won an award from The French Connection website.
Other Imminent Music Force recordings include:
Third Degree Burns – ARCH RIVAL (1997) Distorted Views – MICHAEL HARRIS (1999) Sketches From the Thought Chamber – MICHAEL HARRIS (2001) Words Collide – MICHAEL HARRIS (2003)
We are well aware that we do not represent the trends that come and go in popular music. We know that our listeners are highly cultivated, and most often eschew the current flavor of the month. We applaud your musical discrimination, and promise to reward you with a musical universe not found in the mainstream. It should be obvious to the listener that no expense is spared in the production of Imminent Music Force recordings, and of course, this could not be accomplished without your loyal support. For that, we offer our heartfelt thanks, and wish you all the very best this life has to offer…
