Impact hailed from in and around Cwmbran area in South Wales, punk had seemingly died off with THE PISTOLS, and many a band becoming main stream, like many bands of the 1980's punk was evolving, becoming more angry, more switched on, and more in touch with the streets, none more so than IMPACT, who were walking and flourishing in the punk, skin, crossover of working class oi music,,,, music of streets....
Gigs were coming thick and fast, and the welsh oi punk scene was very high in calibre, rubbing shoulders with the likes of THE OPPRESSED, NO CHOICE, SOLDIER DOLLS, to name bur a small few. IMPACT were getting noticed, 3 demos were over the period were actually recorded. NO FUTURE RECORDS noticed them from their "Punk Christmas" demo, and decided to feature, "STORM TROOPER TACTICS", on their voice of oi new compilation LPs - A COUNTRY FIT FOR HEROES.
Soon to follow was their one and only 7" single outing of "Punk Christmas", ask any punk worth his salt and he will say what a single....
