The Imperial Bar and Lounge is the place to go for beers and sliders with your buddies after work, or a glass of wine after the movie, during a hot date, or on a nice day just because. This is a centrist joint, a community-oriented spot, a place with something for everyone, and with special appeal to locals. Somehow, the fact that best encapsulates this is that there are two, top-of-the-line professional pool tables, but no electronic gaming.
Located on Arlington between First and Second Streets in the heart of the vibrant area local bloggers call "WeFi," The Imperial is the new epicenter. With its twenty-foot ceilings, exposed steel beams, and natural brick walls, it's a stripped-down, wide-open space that appeals to the Wild Westerner in every Nevadan's bones — but complemented with the modern amenities of comfort and style: wide-screen plasma TVs, custom-designed booths and banquets, and a huge, slick, sleek bar.
You might call it a "gastropub." There's the homey atmosphere of a traditional pub, but food that tops any traditional "pub grub." The fare is stuff everybody knows, like salads and mac-and-cheese, but done better than anyone is used to. It's a diverse menu, with a focus on thin crust pizzas, Panini sandwiches and meats and cheeses. They have a diverse selection of beers on tap, and the highest quality, bang-for-your-buck wine selection.
It's the best food and drink, served in a casual atmosphere not burdened by highbrow pretensions or scummy diviness. The dishes are designed to be shared, which makes for intimate, interactive, informal dining — perfect for a no-pressure date or just frittering away a few hours with friends. The Imperial has the perfect relaxed, comfortable environment for hours of lounging and eating or drinking or talking or just hanging out, looking pretty.
