15 Stitches EP Review. Excellent three track EP from one of Derbyshire's hottest new acts. Sounding like a cross between Tool and The Deftones, Ilkeston's Imperial Circus certainly know how to write and record a good tune and the three tracks on the EP certainly showcase that talent. Imperial Circus certainly have the sound to go a long way with there catchy hooks and scream-like yet subtle vocals. 2008 could be a very intresting year for this four piece Ilkeston band. Saturday May 23rd "The Bad Shepherds play punk songs on folk instruments. Not as a gag, but because we really like the noise. We think the songs are better than people remember. We love folk instruments. It works. We do songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers The Jam, Sham 69, The Undertones, Talking Heads, Squeeze and others, even Kraftwerk! Alright, they're not all punk, but they come from roughly the same era. We've mostly given the songs a kind of Celtic feel, and we've stuck in the odd reel and jig here and there. But occassionally we just thrash! I've always thought the excitement of a reel taking off is the nearest thing to the excitement of watching punk live in the 70's." Salli [TMH - SPEAK EASY - FRI 7TH AUGUST]	May 11 2009 2:32 PM oioi :) Just a subtle reminder of our big gig THIS Saturday (16th) at the Rockhouse in DERBY..it has the potential to be the most important gig in the bands history to date! Its the battle of the bands FINAL and if we impress then we will get to play Bloodstock Festival this summer with some of my favourite bands such as arch enemy and carcass..it would literally be a dream come true. Its heavily dependant on how many people we bring to the gig though so if you are free then please make the effort to support us and make 5 boys very happy indeed. If you only come to one gig..then please make it this one. The usual merch will be on sale, with the new addition of badges..sold in packs and on their own. Our new bass player will be there so feel free to come and meet him..you will be seeing alot of him in the future! We will also be playing our new song..as of yet only heard by those select few that travelled on our coach down to London when we headlined in the capital. We are therefore searching for a replacement with immediate effect.. We seek a competant Bassist who is financially stable, and shares our dreams and ambitions. He or she must be suitably committed, and own their own gear..transport of course would be advantageous.
