S.Rimsky Salgado, de son pseudonyme, Imposs est indubitablement l'artiste le plus respecte et le plus influent de la communauté Hip Hop Québécoise. Grace a ses textes qui revendiquent avec style, son flow percutant et son géni musical, plusieurs lui donnent déjà le titre de meilleur rappeur Québécois.
Depuis la sortie du 1er album de son groupe Muzion en juin 1999 sous l'étiquette BMG, il a su se tailler une place parmi les plus grands artistes de l'histoire de la musique urbaine au Canada. Nomine au Gala d'ladisq pour meilleur auteur compositeur et récipiendaire d'un Félix pour meilleur album Hip Hop cette même année, le groupe sort un deuxième album en 2002, encore une fois très bien reçues par la critique, il remporte un deuxième Félix pour meilleur album Hip Hop de l'année.
Après une longue tournée de spectacles en France avec la formation 4mypeople/NTM, le groupe termine l'aventure avec une prestation remarquable au Zénith de Paris pour ensuite revenir à Montréal en 2004. C'est a ce moment la que Wyclef Jean les invite a collaborer avec lui sur son hit "24 heures a vivre". Le titre connait un succès monstre alors qu'Imposs et Muzion remportent un prix miroir pour la meilleure prestation au Festival d'été de Québec avec Wyclef Jean.
A son grand enchantement, Wyclef remarque le talent indéniable du jeune rappeur en studio, sa fluidité autant en anglais qu'en français, et lui conseil de continuer à se produire dans les deux langues. Suivant les conseils de l'artiste américain, Imposs retourne à la source, il fait le tour des radios communautaires partout a travers le Québec, il fait des spectacles, il baptise la ville de Montréal "Real city" et distribu sa musique en anglais comme en français. L'accueil fut magistral et Imposs se retrouve encore une fois au sommet du Hip Hop Québécois en vendant plus de "mixtapes" que les artistes Hip Hop vendent d'albums sur la marche selon soundscan.
Imposs décide finalement de travailler sur son 1er album solo "Mon poinG d'vue", qui sortira en automne 2007 sur l'étiquette Kponeinc. Il décrit cet album comme la riposte du peuple, "Mon PoinG d'vue avec un G au lieu du T parce que ma vérité blesse". Le Hip Hop Québécois a enfin trouve son visage, nous suivons désormais le "boss" avec fierté et espoir.

Rimsky on Sept 12, Imposs is without question “la crème de la crème” of Canadian Hip hop. He poses lyrical skills ahead of his time mastering both French and English and musical production abilities that have him craft his songs and write his lyrics as a one man wrecking crew.
Born in Montreal, Imposs was raised by his mother and two (2) older sisters. With no father figure around, he rapidly learned to become a man on the streets of St Michel (an area known for its violence and high crime). This is where the first juices began flowing. Inspired by what he saw, what he lived, what he dreamed of doing, he honed his skills to paint the perfect imagery of his life on the darker side of Montreal.
In the early 90’s, his reputation was growing fast. He earned the respect of his peers and was crowned a serious battle rapper. To prove his talent, Imposs entered freestyle contests where he battled emcees twice his age. He won. This was the final push he needed to break into the business of hip-hop. In 1995, he formed a group with his sister and two others; they called themselves Muzion (www.muzion.com). The group quickly earned accolades from critics at large and became arguably known as one of the pioneers of French hip-hop in Quebec and a musical powerhouse in the Haitian community. On their very first album, Muzion signed to BMG Canada in 1997. Muzion met with success and toured across Quebec and France. After the release of their sophomore album (in 2001), Muzion received even more acclaim. Music industry heavy weights also started to take notice of Muzion and the kid from St Michel. Wyclef Jean (of the legendary group The Fugees) called requesting to record a track with Muzion, which was put on his “Welcome to Haiti – Creole 101” album released in 2004. Having worked with Muzion and Imposs, Wyclef grasped the very essence of Imposs’ potential when he said, “ the future is bilingual”.
Always moving, constantly growing, Imposs started thinking on a grander scale, he wanted to reach a bigger audience. He decided to release mixtapes in English working closely with his new partner DJ DAX, in an effort to create a buzz. It worked! The response from the avid fans around the world was outstanding. The first mixtape began selling over 3,000 physical copies in 3 days in Montreal alone and over 25 000 album downloads in the first month of release.
The stage is set. With his undeniable talent and a mounting buzz and with more people crowning him Real City King, Imposs is a force to be reckoned with.
