About me:
Everyone is asking if I have a website for my work. So Here we are! Ill be getting a "real" website for my work soon but for now this will just have to do!
Let me tell you alittle about me the artist and my work. I have never taken a class for art except a high school class. I had never tried to paint before 2003. We had a ugly wooden coffee table I just got tired of looking at. So I sanded it down and painted it. Ill be sure to post those pics later when I get them scanned. A freind of mine out in Ca saw the table and wanted it. I gave it to her and it sat in her shop. My work was requested from ppl who saw that table. And so it went.
I quickly found painting to be my passion. Its my stress reliever. My get away from the real world.
My first love in painting is water scenes. Im a Cancer so I think that has alot to do with it. Its a Water sign, for those of you who dont know. I love tropical scenes, islands with waterfalls, parrots, rock formations.
I paint with alot of color. I hand paint everything. Beleive it or not, I cant draw so everything is painted. If I see a pic I really like, it tends to stick in my head and when Im wanting to paint something new, the pic will pop back into my head and Ill use a version of it to create part of a sce
ne. My work always has alot going on in them. If you were to go diving, its busy under there. I try to paint how I think it would look at that moment.
I love tropical sunsets. If you have ever seen one, youll understand when I say, they are so much more beautiful then a reg "land" sunset. Its "untouched" and so much more wonderful. The colors tend to be more bold and more colors invovled.
What makes my paints so much in demand, is the detail work that goes into them. I break my over all painting into little sections. Each of the sections get my personal attention. If it has alot of detail in real life, then it gets it in my painting, down to smallest fish or bird. The over all effect is breath taking (IMPO). My hubby and I joke that Im anal about the details in my work.HAHA!
While tropical and water scenes are my first love, I have painted other things per customer request. I painted my first and only dragon the first year I started painting. I hand painted every little scale! There has got to be a better way! LOL Ive painted a Snow Tiger, howling wolf at sunset (still working on this one), the Green God in the leaves of a young Oak tree with tiny dragons around it.
NOTE: Please dont ask for a custom peice! It becomes a job instead of a hobby. It takes away from it. I dont like doing it. But I will concider a trade in services. You never know, so just ask. The worse I can say is no! HAH!
I love to paint on wood. 99% of all my paintings are on wood. I think Im about ready to start using canvas tho. Im not sure I would get the depth I get now on canvas but I wont know until I try, right?
