The long awaited debut album from the mistress of dark, thoughtful, experimental, electronica is here.....
...drives headlong into David Lynch territory..and it turns exponentially darker and more frightening as it progresses. Overall, this is a memorable first outing, and Sin is a force to be reckoned with” Gregory Burkart – FEARNET.COM
Imprint is the experimental, electronic art of London based Sin, and after much struggle was finally unleashed on myspace in 2008.
Her debut show was at The Junction – Bristol in June 2008, swiftly followed by further U.K dates.
Shortly after Sin then went onto her first US tour, starting at Conflux Dark Arts Festival (Portland Oregon) passing through San Francisco, and finishing in Hollywood L.A. in October, where she made quite an impact with her controversial version of America The Beautiful...
At a delicate time of the run up to the American elections Sin re-wrote the words and performed their anthem without music to back her up. Never one to shy away from social issues, Sin uses Imprint to voice concerns and also to drag out subjects from within that are not so comfortable for most to deal with...
Imprint’s first recording – Eden - was released on a compilation for US based Shinto records In October 2008.
A so far unreleased version of “Love Will Tear Us Apart” has impressed none other than Peter Hook….
"Sent shivers up my spine..Made my hairs stand on end...Haunting..Good...Very good! " Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order)
The Debut album - The Wisdom Out Of The Wound - was self released on Feral Intuition Records on May 1st 2009.
A label created by Sin herself so she could self-release and maintain creative control of her art.
It is only be available to order online directly through Sin’s myspace, or at live shows.
Limited to 100 hand made, hand-numbered copies all beautifully packaged...
“....like a modern Kate Bush at her moodiest. It really is very beautiful...A great record and madness to think it’s so limited in numbers.... those who get one will treasure it!” - Mick Mercer
Imprint has been touring Europe this year, Beginning with a show supporting The Alabama 3 in London. And has so far played in Poland, Greece, Austria, France, Portugal and the U.K..With more coming and planned for Italy, Russia, America and over to Canada.
IMPRINT began as the solo work of Sin in June 2008 …since then she has collaborated with Autarky, Dead Industrie and has been one half of the well known Gothic/Industrial band Attrition for nearly two years…
Respected both as a vocalist and an artist, the requests to work with her and alongside her continue to flood in. IMPRINT has received airplay internationally and recently appeared in The NME’S New and Unsigned section.
"Siren-voiced goth-tronica" NME
There are plans for many more collaborations and even more planned for IMPRINT itself!
IMPRINT.. live, is an experience all of its own...and it’s only here you will fully grasp the emotional experience that is..IMPRINT.
An experience that is both shut off and open to all…
..." The mixture of attitude meeting sparse electronica and samples that sometimes crush and caress along with Sin's voice is what brings back the memories… Where could I place Imprint to give people some kind of an idea what to expect? Not in any category but amongst such people as Fad Gadget and Joy Division, Magazine and Killing Joke and Portishead, in a little world of her own, dark but in many ways life-affirming." Bob Bloke - The Junction - Bristol
" lush, gothic-tinged strings, bells and piano over a stark framework of distorted industrial loops and apocalyptic sound effects. At the centre of all this was an impassioned vocal performance. Sin makes virtuoso use of her voices..." ...Sound on Sound Magazine
MISTRESS of her signature brand of thoughtful, moody electronic experimentalism. Imprint are clearly going places...
