| Bio | MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to perform, teach, develop, and promote improvisational
and sketch comedy theatre. We also want to promote having fun and
giving the people the joy of playing together whether they be children
or adults. Create amazing, phenomenal and innovative shows. To be a
theater made up of members of its community to perform for the
community. To Entertain and surprise the audience and ourselves. To
be a theater of the heart where honesty and love for your fellow
performer are the basis for all that happens on stage.
IMPROMEDYS’ STYLE
Impromedys’ style of performance is a theater that brings entertainment and
art through collaboration. Our performers form a fraternal bond which
transfers to the stage with amazing work. From comedy to drama,
written or improvised, it is meant to engage and entertain audiences
with the greatest intelligence,creativity and innovation.

About me:
Since 1997, Impromedy has provided audiences in Miami, FL with a live comedic experience like no other. Our shows consist of a combination of improv, Stand up, sketches, videos, & audience interaction. We are dedicated to spreading laughter and the art of comedy to Miami in all its forms! CASH OR CHECK PAYMENTS:
We Accept Cash or Check at the Roxy Theatre with one of our members either the first day of class or on designated registration days. If you plan to pay on the first day of class please email us at Impromedy@bellsouth.net to confirm, spaces are limited.

IMPROMEDY ACADEMY PROGRAM:
ACADEMY LEVEL 1
Prerequesites: None
Course Description:
Teaches students performance basics such as scene building, listening
skills, responding in the moment honestly, and more through short form
improvisation games and excercises.
With a performance at the end of the class on the Impromedy Stage!
ACADEMY LEVEL 2
Prerequesites: Completion of Level 1 or permission of Academy Staff
Course Description:
Teaches students advanced performance techniques through advanced
short form improvisation games and exercises to develop strong
characters, environments, and stage presence. With a performance at
the end of the class on the Impromedy Stage!
ACADEMY LEVEL 3
Prerequesites: Completion of Level 1 and 2 or permission of Academy Staff
Course Description:
Teaches students sketch comedy writing, creativity, and creating
sketch from improvisation.
With a performance at the end of the class on the Impromedy Stage!
ACADEMY LEVEL 4
Prerequesites: Completion of Level 1, 2, and 3 or permission of Academy Staff
Course Description:
Teaches students the art of long form improvisation focusing mostly on
“The Harold”, an art form used to create ideas for sketch, movies, and
plays. It is also a stand alone performance piece. Many, if not all of
the comedy actors and writers we see in television now have studied
and performed this art form.
With a performance at the end of the class on the Impromedy Stage!
ACADEMY LEVEL 5
Prerequesites: Completion of Level 1,2,3, and 4 or permission of Academy Staff
Course Description:
The culmination of all that the student has learned. In this level the
role of the Instructor shall transform into Director. The student will
learn the business of running their own improvisation and sketch
comedy troupe: Choosing a name, putting together a show, finding their
strengths as a troupe, and putting together a 4 week performance run
to be performed on the Impromedy Stage!
After completion of the 5 Levels, students may choose to audition to join the Impromedy Cast or depending on the results of the IA Level 5 Performance Level may be added as a performance team for Impromedy.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE IMPROMEDY ACADEMY CLASSES:
The improv classes are an amazing way to gain confidence in everything you do. It became a place where I was able to go and just be me and that was enough for everyone. I learned enough in one level to help me in every day social sitations, as well as on stage. Impromedy Academy is organized with wonderful, well trained instructors who allow you to suck all the information you want out them and they never get tired of encouraging you. I was really impressed with this group that was formed in 8 short weeks, as well as the improvement and alteration to our improv skill. Impromedy Academy has a fresh way of teaching these skills and drilling them into our brains to become the best performers we can be. I feel like I built a family, and a really funny one at that.
