Heather's Blurbs |
About me:
Heather is a Certified and Recommended Instructor in Action Theater-based physical theater improvisation. She has been teaching and performing improvisation for over 12 years, both in the US and abroad. Which means she never really knows where she is or what she's doing until she's actually doing it. Then it's too late.
Heather is also certified in and offers private instruction in several body-based disciplines including Yoga, Pilates, and Modern Dance Technique. She holds a Master's Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Performance. She works part time as a Movement Therapist and teaches Pilates. She knows that Butoh is a gift from the gods.
Heather is Director of Noise Posse Productions in Washington DC; partner in a DC-based government contract consulting firm; and an officer on the Board of Directors for ZAP Performance Projects in Santa Fe, NM . She produces Action Theater workshops and performances in the US and abroad. She never sleeps.
Heather’s early training began as a dancer and gymnast. Her formal training includes 15 years of Action Theater training, Pilates Mat and Allegro, Laban, Butoh, Middle Eastern Dance, Hawkins Technique, Dance and Contact Improvisation, Yoga, Horton Technique, and various forms of performance work. Heather works as an improvisor, performing and providing training in Action Theater and other forms of improvisation.
Heather strives to be employed as an improvisor- anywhere any time.

Who I'd like to meet:
I am interested in building a network for performing artists to gather for support and/or collaboration with like-minded professionals. I hope to meet people who genuinely love to improvise more than anything else in the world. I hope to avoid stalkers. I hope to open a wide substructure for endorsement and assistance through any means necessary (which means, yes...my space.)
