Impunity is a film made on an ultra-low budget, based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story "The Cask of Amontillado." Darren Montresor is a mid-20's young man who arrives at an ordinary party with the concealed plan of enacting revenge upon his best friend's mysterious "actions." Adhering to a family motto that assures "nobody will wound him with Impunity," the audience is taken inside this subjective mind so only we can comprehend (at least we think) what this man might do next. However, until the very end one important detail is consistently left unresolved: why is Montresor so driven in this way?
