Imrama have been playing together for almost five years now. Brendan and Marion met at Mary Begley’s trad. session in the Cobblestone Bar in Smithfield, and initially played as a duo with various guest musicians. They were subsequently joined by Cathy, whose fiddle playing helped to consolidate the sound which they now enjoy.
Their music is mainly trad and folk, but shows influences from other genres as well. They also like to include some of their own original material from time to time.
They play gigs regularly in Dublin , Kildare, Wicklow and Westmeath. They host a weekly informal session at The Hut in Phibsborough, Dublin. Their sessions at the Youth Hostel in the beautiful Glenmalure in County Wicklow have proved very popular with visitors from Ireland and abroad.
Imrama represented Ireland at the 2006 Yn Chruinnaght festival in the Isle of Man.
Imrama is an old Irish word meaning "voyage"

Hello to all my friends out in the world. This is Shiregreen. Hope you remember … we got some of the same roots. Today’s a very special day for me. My album “Dreams and Shadows” is out now and available at cdbaby.com. 14 Songs … each of them telling its own story. With influences of great songwriters like Kristofferson, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot or Jim Croce … but most of all it’s my own thing (my right name is Klaus Adamaschek). I’ve just posted the title track and another new song. Maybe you got some minutes to listen, maybe give me a feedback … and if you enjoy it you might buy it. Let’s keep on dreaming… Your friend Shiregreen

Hi friends of IMRAMA, hope everything's alright with you in Dublin. I spent a wonderful time in the south of France and wrote some new songs. Share the feeling of the waves and the shore and the tide and listen to "Aquablue" ... All the best for you .. Your friend Shiregreen from Germany
Hi IMRAMA, thanks a lot for the friendship. Great to be added to such wonderful singers and songwriters. There's great music on your page, lots of new inspiration. In some ways we got the same roots. Maybe you got the time to listen to some of my songs. For example “Freedom fighter” which won the international songwriter contest “Comprosers" (Los Angeles/Maastricht 2008). Think you like it. Hope to see you some day in Germany or in Dublin .. who knows??? All the best for you and all your friends ... Shiregreen from Germany
Hi Marion. Thanks for the friends hookup! Hope you are keeping the best. The music sounds great. Take care, hopefully see and hear you soon. Cheers. Johnny.
