The History...

I guess way back the band started off as Sam and Ali playing Guitar together (Sam on lead and Al on bass). Then Jim joined them when he started learning guitar, we met a few times like this but never really got anywhere without drums or vocals.

About Xmas 2004 Jim decided to learn drums and the band became slightly more complete. We decided that we wanted keys in the band so around February ish 2005 Charlotte joined the band and we started learning covers by bands such as Muse and Nightwish. We carried on like this for a while, sort of looking for a singer at the same time, had some ups, some downs but never really got very far.

We decided to start properly looking for a singer just before the summer 2005 and didn't have very much luck to begin with. Then around october we decided to sort this out, decided on the name Incognito (which was Sam's idea), even though we had thought about this name before the Summer, started putting more effort into it and found ourselves a singer mid-october, thus Kryssy joined the band and the band really started to develop.

However towards the end of December, Al (our bassist) decided that due to his many other commitments, that he did not have enough time to properly give his full efforts to the band and decided to leave, but we are all still good friends! Incognito is still missing a bassist so if you would like to give it a go contact me on here or at jiimmy@gmail.com We haven't let this hinder us in any way and we're still doing recordings and the like. The band is still moving forward!

We have now had 2 recording studio sessions thanks to Counterfeit Productions, (it's good knowing the right people!) and we should have the recordings ready to put up on this site and our main site within the next few weeks. The recordings are of Flee From The Demon and Conjured In His Mind. So these songs will actually sound half decent as opposed to the really dodgy old copies. There will also be a new song called Special Price. Look forward to these appearing soon...

The Incognito sound...

People have found it fairly difficult to classify the sound of Incognito, but I guess if I had to classify it I would say originally it appeared to be a concoction of Dark Tranquility's heavy riffs and Nightwish's melodic vocal style but it seems to have taken more of a step in the direction of Sonata Artica and the odd influence of Dragonforce thrown in here and there.

The first song we ever wrote was called "Druids Revenge" and the whole idea was thought up in Starbucks :D heh (don't ask). We did record this along with the other two currently up on this page back in 2005 but as a band we decided we didn't like the song as it stands and agreed to remove it. But don't worry, if you did like this song (although I don't think many people did from comments we recieved about the songs) we will probably be revisiting it at some point to try to sort it out. This song recieved around 60 plays on myspace whereas now you can see Conjured In His Mind has had 113 plays and Flee From The Demon which seems to currently be our most popular song has had 128 plays (as of 16th March 2006). So we're currently looking at an overall number of plays of around 300 :)
