About me:
Greenlight Yourself! Make it happen! Just do it!
The Central Coast Independent Film, TV and Media Group is a gathering of media enthusiast that want to make movies/shorts, TV shows and media of all types including music videos, Radio, Podcasts and Youtube content. We are a newly emerging non-profit organization based mostly in the Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. We make features with almost no-budget in a wide variety of genres. Many of these completed projects are comparable in quality to big budget industry productions. It is a challenge to convert a story into a dramatic visual reality. Fortunately technology continues to level the field digitally with many low-cost, high quality tools. The internet has opened new doors in media collaboration, resources and distribution.

Our members work together as a creative collective sharing equipment, skills and teaching each other along the way. We utilize the resources of groups such as Public Access, Community Theater and Educational Institutions. We're always looking for motivated people to join our sweat-equity cast & crew. This is not a job. We certainly are not trying to avoid commercial success but it is not our goal. We are driven by creativity not financial gain. We showcase our work on Public Access TV and the internet.
Some interesting changes in legislation and technology are on the horizon for broadcasting. The FCC has set a permanent end date for all analog TV broadcasting. Video services continue to expand for cell phones and broadband. The Central Coast Independent Film, TV and Media Group supports Net neutrality and local communities right to access channel capacity from any operator that broadcasts video services within to that community. This right to access channel capacity is not limited to cable TV only. We also support video services operators obligation of must carry local broadcasters for the public good.

The International Student Film Festival is accepting submissions for the 2008 competition. Deadline for submissions is March 31, 2008. ISFF is celebrating its 6th year as being the global authority for student filmmakers.

This year our newest PARTNER is Collegiate Nationals; a CBS company. They will be hosting the top three films from each category on their website and the public will be able to vote online for their favorites.

You can be any age to participate but must have been a student when the film/video was produced. Visit www.studentfilmfestival.org for a submission form or to view films from previous years.
