About me: Independent Lady Magazine is a new online E-zine publication that allows all people to have a little fun. Being a lady is tough. You're supposed to look pretty, diet, watch what you say, watch what you wear, how you act. Either you're a prude, or you're a slut. You're anorexic or you're festively plump. There's no winning! Can't people just be happy with you as you?
Women can be home makers, or they can dominate corporations, and even run countries. There's nothing women can't do. In this day and age of internet communications, 17-career average, and fast-food, why not just be yourself? That's right! Fart! Cry! Burp! Yell! Dress how YOU feel! Buy what you want! If that's what you want, of course....
That's the point! It's your life. You can totally ignore what they say. Instead of crying about a recent broken heart, and getting sympathy hugs, you should go make a voodoo doll of him while downing a bottle of Tequila, and dancing the Mambo. If you want to leave poop in a bag in front of his front door, that's your choice!
Now that we know women can do anything, and these days can be independent enough to make their own decisions, let's introduce the magazine. This magazine was started when a fun loving adventuring couple decided to take all the things they argue about, and vent sarcastically.
Independent Lady Magazine has a column, where "Dear Susan" became "Dear Psycho" -- what would you REALLY want the columnist to say after your sobbing letter of heartache after he didn't divorce her after 5 years of stringing you along? Is it the typical "It's not your fault. I guess it wasn't meant to be. You'll get over it with time. There's other fish in the sea." or would you like to see what you (and everyone else) are thinking? "Here are the top 15 recipes to poison the bitch."
Independent Lady Magazine has advice for dealing with the kids! Instead of "Don't worry about that headache, you'll get used to them shouting, just tell them to go into time out." You can read the Independent Lady Mag approach of "If you beat them with a bag of oranges, it won't bruise them!" Perhaps the Independent Lady Magazine recipe book is what you crave? We have the top 20 cocktails that relax you so much that you'll forget the kids are shouting. Special brownie recipes will mellow the little buggers out! Everyone knows that kids like brownies!
You stress out enough at work, at school, at home, at the store.. A great way to relieve your stress and anger is to laugh at life. We help you with that! Take the spirit of "The Onion" (The extremely witty publication that spoofs the news), and bring that philosophy to Ladies' magazines, and you have Independent Lady Magazine.
The magazine will be a place for you to vent! You can submit articles, questions, columns, recipes, or just tell the world what that man (or woman) of yours has been up to.
It's not just fun and games though. We actually have JustAskJaime -- our own columnist that specializes in Wedding Planning. Jaime is truly the person you would want planning YOUR wedding! She cares more about the details and success of an event than the actual bride does! Jaime brings you the latest success stories, funny stories from weddings, the latest wedding styles, cakes, fashions, original ideas, gift ideas, and even some fun tips of what to do "the night of!"
Independent Lady Magazine is looking for additional columnists or authors that would like to contribute original content, either sarcastic, or serious. We cater to the modern lady, and half the site will be so enjoyable even a man can laugh at it!
