We are seeking and highlighting photos of Mardi Gras to be part of our Indie Lens slide show inspired by THE ORDER OF MYTHS. Beneath the surface of pageantry at America’s oldest Mardi Gras lies a complex story about race relations and the ever-present racial divide in America.
Want to see Indie Lens on a big screen, learn more about the films and talk about the issues? Here’s your chance.
ITVS Community Cinema presents free monthly screenings of upcoming Independent Lens films, accompanied by panel discussions, guest speakers and more—in more than 50 cities!
"Independent Lens is public television's equivalent of This American Life, a completely freeform program with no apparent rules for what passes. Lens airs a decidedly brilliant mix of drama, documentary, even comedy, and provides an imaginative array of unusual, unknown and immensely engaging stories.”
—“Best 24 Hours on Television,” Paste Magazine
“The greatest showcase of independent film on TV today.” —The Kansas City Star
“TV’s best kept secret.” —Christianity Today
“Entertaining as hell and better than any other documentary series around.”

Thanks for the request! I really enjoyed my experience being filmed for the PBS Documentary, "This Far By Faith" which aired several years back, and I have a little bit of experience as an extra. Stage in general is a wonderful thing... I'll check out your page regularly, and please do check out mine from time to time! Yours is a great project and mission!
I hope you will be re-airing the "Queen of Latin Soul" bio of the fascinating Afro-Cuban singer La Lupe. Evidently, the DVD is unavailable, and I did not get to see last year's initial broadcast.
There seems to be renewed interest in La Lupe, and I hope you will give my request serious consideration. She was a TREMENDOUS, unique talent with a fascinating story.
