No illusions of rock stardom here.
Sling Slang / 10 Foot Reach Record’s Inderivium brings a level of maturity to the local music scene. The sonic landscape is a unique blend of styles from early alternative to punk and new and classic metal, a sound comparable to the likes of Incubus, Sevendust, Slayer, Finger Eleven and Killswitch Engage, among others. Each member brings his individual style to the group, the sum of which is a singular sound in modern rock/ alt-metal. Inderivium embraces the asset of strong melody lines over intense grooves where the crowd can sing along, but can turn on a dime and bring the house down with screaming metal interludes. With this interesting blend, Inderivium can play with any band, to virtually any audience.
A brief history.
In 2006, 4 individuals came together to form a fun project, each coming from different musical backgrounds within the local, regional, national and international music scenes. Initially, writing and recording happened quickly, with the foursome becoming fast friends. However, things soured quickly with the loss of a rehearsal space and a then major car accident, sidelining drummer Pete for several months. The band played very little during 2007 and while they remained friends, Inderivium was all but dead. Things changed in 2008 after Tom and Pete began the writing sessions for what would become “The Empty Injection”, Inderivium’s first release (Winter 2009). Soon, as parts were being worked on through email, the band re-dedicated itself, found new digs in Tom’s basement and began booking shows. As 2008 began to wane, Inderivium grew exponentially playing clubs statewide including the legendary punk palace, Toad’s Place. Inderivium is currently touring the local music circuit, gigging several times a month, hoping to expand and bring its unique blend of alternative sounds to the New England region and beyond.
