About me: I've committed to a taking part in a charity bike ride across southern India. It's a 2 week, dawn 'til dusk, solid riding on the ageless Royal Enfield motorbike. Sounds a breeze? Hmmmm! not so sure – think potholes, unsealed roads, no roads, Indian driving rules (are there any!) and all done on that most aristocratic of machines, the Royal Enfield Bullet (no disc brakes on this old timer)!
The charities that benefit are: UNICEF Working for children's rights, their survival, development & protection
RAINBOW TRUST Founded to provide respite and support at home to children with a life threatening or terminal illness and their families
ADVENTURE ASHRAM Adventure Ashram Charity, helping the people of Palani Hills in South India
WCS The Wildlife Conservation Society is dedicated to preserving the earth's wildlife and ecosystems
And so now my task, until January 2009, is to raise the 5000+ sponsorship required for this experience.
