A little clip about Mother's (Indie Incubator host venue).
BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! CHECK OUT WHAT THIS BLOGGER HAD TO SAY HERE: One Minute Reviews
Who I'd like to meet: The Indie Incubator Film Fest has developed a distinct voice in the Chicago area independent film scene and has generous support from the City of Chicago’s Film Office and the popular PBS show, “Image Union”. The organizers of this event have paid their dues, and more than that, they know how to have fun! This season marks the eighth festival, and it promises to be better than ever!
“The key to the success of our festival over the hundreds of other attempted ‘film nights,’ is our film selection,” said Charles Klein, Festival Co-Founder. “We have a simple philosophy: if it’s supposed to be funny, then it should be funny. If it’s supposed to be scary, then it should be scary. If it’s supposed to be dramatic…you get it. But above all else, every film that we show must be entertaining. We pride ourselves on that.” It has become a night that even the bartenders look forward to, and that is a feat indeed in the “been there-done that” nightclub scene.
Every filmmaker will take home something, but the big award for ‘Best of Fest’ is decided by the judge’s panel. The panel consists of Kathy Byrne from the City of Chicago’s Film Office, Eddie Griffen, Producer of Image Union and Ry the Movie Guy, One Minute Movie Reviews blogger and pop culture connoisseur. The organizers are also offering The Image Union Award which comes with a paid spot for the winning film on the popular television show.
The Indie Incubator will take place on Tuesday, April 28th at The Original Mother’s, located at 26 West Division Street in Chicago. This season will feature the long awaited release of “Never” by Theory Of Everything Films. Doors will open at 7pm, and it is sponsored by Jameson. There will be at least two hours of film running time with short intermissions throughout the program.
The show is hosted by award winning comic book creators and filmmakers Matt Kubinski and Charles Klein, with a dance party to follow after the film fest. There is no cover charge. Film list is not final and organizers have been known to take last minute entries, if they are especially good. To enter a film, please contact mattk@rushanddivision.com.
