15 MINUTES OF FAME

IN•DE•PEN•DENT

One morning I was sitting at the kitchen table reading the latest gloom and doom report about the economy and it came to me that “broke” is definitely not a "death sentence" in fact it's a step off point towards true independence. It’s all in how you look at it.

Getting rid of old jobs and possessions makes room for new opportunities and acquisitions. Some people realize that they can travel light and take off for another opportunity. (Brave people who love life!) Some people commit suicide. (Ignorant people driven by fear.)

As I went to take a sip of coffee and thought about the entertainment industry the word IN•DE•PEN•DENT came out of my mouth in a whisper. All by itself. An epiphany that was stretched out like in a spelling bee. Like the word had a it's own power and decided to be heard.

Say it out loud and listen to the lyrical qualities of the word.

Pronunciation: ..ˌin-də-ˈpen-dənt.. Function: adjective

1: not dependent: as a (1): not subject to control by others : self-governing (2): not affiliated with a larger controlling unit .. b (1): not requiring or relying on something else : not contingent .. (2): not looking to others for one's opinions or for guidance in conduct (3): not bound by or committed to a political party c (1): not requiring or relying on others (as for care or livelihood) .. (2): being enough to free one from the necessity of working for a living synonyms see free — in•de•pen•dent•ly adverb

It was CD’s idea to stimulate the economy by having a free family concert in the Spring. The independent entertainers are 80% of the industry and we’ve got some of the superstars on this page.

Forward thinking independents have put together a free family event to stimulate the economy from the level were we live. All we ask is that you come and have a good time.

The starving artist phase of life is when it’s all about creation. “Ain’t doin’ it for the money. You do it for what it will make of you. “ Your effort is independent of your result. If you must suffer for your art, then so be it.

This economy may force us to be an American community again. Like an economic Pearl Harbor we have a common enemy. It is a fact that we can learn to work together and it's proven time and time again even on the interviews on our show. Expect many great new collaborations in the future because to thrive we've got to realize we are pioneers in a new era. Good or Bad the future will be what WE make it. No more... No less.

The artists on this page and on this show are just some of the people and performers that are supporting The ROCK THE ECONOMY movement. We've got to make new friends and create an new economy based on friendship. I know it sounds Utopian, but that doesn't mean it won't work.

I am inviting you and your friends (fans?) to call in to the show to connect with like minded people tell the stories of your successes and struggles and discover what is important in the creative world of independent entertainers artists and those that love them.

Bookmark this site and check back here often for updates and new episodes. Or subscribe to be kept in the loop.

It only took a few minutes for me to make 3 videos and upload them to the entire world. And to a world that had a TV for a babysitter, video is reality. That fact is worth a great deal of consideration. How much time did YOU spend in front of a TV during your formative years? That is real power in the hands of one individual and it was impossible 5 years ago. Every day, more and more independents are controlling the media used to control us.

The power of technology is it power to free people from bondage. The technology of television was the turning point for the civil rights movement. And the technology of the internet brought a uniquely new administration to Washington. Which is why CD came up with ROCK THE ECONOMY.

The President can only help us if we commit to helping ourselves.

Lamont Patterson started the WORLD MOVEMENT RECORDS label 19 years ago in a much different market. He’s watched the trends develop and he stays current. His true life experience in the industry is priceless.

He always says we can’t afford to be a dinosaur. His label World Movement Records has been successfully selling music products domestically and internationally in all Genres.

When he's not in his Los Angeles or Las Vegas base Lamont travels the world promoting his clients and has platinum and gold on his walls that testify to his production and negotiation skills.

On this show you can "chop it up" with a 25 year VETERAN PRODUCER that has completed projects with such luminaries as Quincy Jones, Sting,Herbie Hancock, Bill Summers, Ike Turner, Grammy Winner Aaron Neville, Auggie Johnson,(Side Effect)Bobby Lyle, Big Boy(power 106), New Birth, Ghetto Hippie, Coolio, Wylde Bunch, Tweed Cadillac, Erika, and he's worked with many more of the most successful players in the business of entertainment. He knows how to make a weak artist stronger and a strong artist successful.

Lamont also produces and markets "Street Authors" Pretty Tony and Glenda "Cookie".

I am a self described “technologist”. I find practical applications for new technology in the real market place of business. Cell phone PDA's, Laptops and computers are the foundation but my specialty is Internet Marketing and Web Development.

WEB 2.0/3.0 marketing is a different animal than old school "Madison Avenue" because it is based on human social networking and the technology is available to do incredible things, like my gag videos at the top of the page.

People are making friends and finding mates on line and it's becoming more accepted every day. In business people prefer to do business with friends WEB 3.0 is about making friends to do business with no matter where you or they happen to be in the world. It's a step in the direction of that Utopia I mentioned.

While some people are terrified of the changes created by the new economy others of us are making new connections and creating new opportunities. The only thing constant in life is change. So it makes sense that the quicker you can get with change the more effective you will be.

CD, Lamont and I, and other members of the IEA have been working together to select and promote the talent that will be performing at the ROCK THE ECONOMY CONCERT April 4th at the Henderson Pavilion.

Although the acts for that show have been selected, some are featured on this page, Lamont and I continue to audition artists every Saturday at the IEA headquarters located at 3007 W Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson Nevada from 10:00AM to 4:00PM.

Performers are needed for upcoming projects and the mission the of The IEA & WORLD MOVEMENT RECORDS is to market and promote "Indies" for a growing list of opportunities.

One of the most valuable benefits for IEA members is that at these audition Lamont will waive his usual consultation fees to point out the weaknesses and strengths of the performances in an objective evaluation at no charge.

GO TO WWW.IEA.BIZ to learn more about the IEA and the projects that you may want to get involved in. To join register on the site and tell 'em Rejj sent you. Or email Rejj@iea.biz

IEA members are hot to audition for the compilation series because chances are excellent to get a ride on a recording that "has legs" as Lamont would say. The most important thing for an Indie is to get as many ears on a project as possible with immediate feedback.

The market will tell you what they like.

World Movement Records, CD Palmer (he started XRADIO) and the Independent Entertainer's Association are producing the series of compilation recordings entitled "I AM INDIE". The series will be marketed to the "media buyers" of the world entertainment industry for foreign and domestic markets.

Lamont says he's mining for Gold again and there is Platinum out there too.

The first edition of this CD will also be a feature at the IEA (www.iea.biz) ROCK THE ECONOMY CONCERT APRIL 4TH at THE HENDERSON PAVILION
