Indie Laughs for Life's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | The emcee gig I had on November 4, 2006 forever changed my life. I’d talked to local musician, Vicki Blankenship, who was organizing a concert event at Blackstock Winery in Dahlonega, GA. I’ve always believed music and laughter are universal languages, and bringing them together in one place would ROCK!
But this wasn’t an ordinary concert. The musicians I met that night had gathered for a purpose -- to fight cancer one song at a time. I don’t remember at what point in the evening it hit me, but I KNEW I had to get involved! Vicki’s enthusiasm for this cause was contagious. The "Laughs for Life" concept was welcomed with open arms and enormous hugs. I’ve found not only a great business partnership, but I’ve met a friend for life.
As I met more people through networking and at a variety of events, I've been touched by the stories I've heard...because everyone’s life has in some way been touched by cancer. I’m an honored to be an honorary Indiegrrl, and continuing to help Vicki and others with the mission of fighting cancer. | | Influences | Indie artists from ALL disciplines who share their talents to fight cancer through music, comedy, poem, and any other way they may create!

Indie Laughs for Life's Blurbs |
About me:
A non profit organization raising money for cancer research and awareness through the involvement of Indie artists and comedians performing at benefit concerts and through compilation CDs from songs and comedy acts each year donated by individual artists. Indie Music for Life is currently working educational awareness programs for music and laughter as therapy to cancer patients. Indie Music for Life needs and accepts donations which are tax deductible. We are looking for corporate sponsors and other organizations to partner with us in reaching these goals.
We are also looking for people to get involved by organizing benefit concerts in your area. On this space we will play different artist songs that have helped us out with benefits in the past or for upcoming benefits and artists that have donated songs to our compilation CD as we find them on My Space and can add their song to our profile. As our comedy project progresses we will feature some of those scripts also. Check back often for updates. But get involved now either by spreading the word, helping organize a benefit, making a tax deductible donation or becoming a sponsor.
