If you're a fan of independent music, don't waste your time at myspace or anywhere else sifting through their listings which have major label bands mixed in with local shows. Go to IndieShows where you can search by location or by keyword and only get results for independent artists. Also, you can post events without any kind of registration or login. Post 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 shows at a time, with the event's information, website link, and an image. You really save time posting your shows at IndieShows. Let's say you have 50 upcoming shows. Since you can post 10 at a time, you'll only have to submit our form 5 times... if your post those events here at myspace for example, you'll have to submit a form 50 times!

Once you have all your shows posted at IndieShows, your fans will be able to let you know that they are attending by adding their name to your event's attending list. They can also e-mail a link to your show's details to all their friends by clicking on "Tell a friend about this event!", and they can choose to automatically get reminded via e-mail about any event.

You can of course leave your comments at our blog or you can join our forum and post indie music related topics until you're blue in the face! Our forum is the next generation in forums... you can post videos, images, show your twitter.com tweet on your profile, add tags to posts, rate posts, add any post or topic to your favorites so you can easily find them later, and we allow you to promote your music. You may say, that last one doesn't sound like a big deal... but, I can't tell you how many times I've been to an indie music site with a forum, and they don't allow self-promotion. It's sad.

The following information pertains to a Benefit and Acknowledgement that we are doing at The Old Mill and The Event Center (551 N. Expressway) - In Griffin, Ga in Honor of Our "Fallen Heroes" (Those who have made the "Ultimate Sacrifice.") - and in Support of Our Troops still in Combat. This Event will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2008. It will begin Outdoor's, across the Street from GTO's/The Event Center, At The Old Mill - around 7:00 p. m. Afterward, we will bring it all over to The Event Center. We will have Food, Live Entertainment in both places (Local, Regional and National Talent/Bands and a Local Comedian) - Plus the Military will provide some displays (and hopefully the sequence of Jets to do the Fly-Over that has been mentioned in honor of those who have made the "Ultimate Sacrifice) - " Those still in Combat -and- ALL those wearing the Military Uniforms representing our Armed Forces and AMERICA.... Expenses will be for Production (Sound and Lights for both places but Lights only for the inside Events) - A Portable Stage, Advertisement Expenses (Radio and Print) - Security - The Comedian and The National Band/T B A. These figures will be Twenty Thousand Dollars, Plus. We are asking each Sponsor for a Donation of $5,000.00. I am sure this can be considered as advertisement and tax deductible. I enjoy driving but NOT sitting in traffic. Instead of engaging in road rage, I play little games to pass the time, like "translate the personalized license plates". I suck at that game.
So in honor of the amount of time I've spent on the road visiting my son at the hospital (who is on the road to recovery and may come home in a few days), I share this comedy.
