Many artists have influenced me musically; Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Nat King Cole, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, etc. The vocalists that I admire most is Donnie Hathaway...he had an amazing instrument and an immeasurable talent.
There have been two men that have had the most influence on me becoming a more "conscious" entity. One is my personal teacher and Imam (minister) Ilyas Muhammed. The other is the teacher of us both...Imam W.Deen Mohammad. His wisdom and clear teachings have given me (what can only be described as) "clearer vision"...the ability to see beyond and (often times) below the surface of things created (objects, words, actions, etc.). With insights that can only be inspired by G-D, his leadership is a salvation to all...not to just those who listen and desire to digest his message.
I am also an advocate for "Saving Our Children", a group of concerned citizens, that are about the mission of reuniting African American children (and children of all ethnicities) with their families. Go to the website to see how you can show support............

The name is moble...simple and plain. Not mobile...something descriptive of a lifestyle or anything such as that. It's more a statement about my journey...hopefully each persons journey...and the day to day of each and every one of us. Everyday is a new lesson, no one knows all that there is to know. We're all just simple student...no matter how old or intelligent we may get, and, should all seek to gain new knowledge, new information...uncover that which has yet to be uncovered. Moble=to wrap the head of in a hood...protect from falsehood...always seek the truth. So, moble is the mind that guides me...to become that which I am intended is the goal.
My history is a simple one: worked in radio back in the 80's from Louisiana to Kentucky and back again, session singing, promotion work, etc. Began traveling "that" road many in entertainment traveled before me...so, I turned my back on music (and everything related to it) all together. It took my daughters talent (an HBCU college student singing in her schools choir) to help renew my interest....and make me realize how much of myself I'd denied. That's me in a nutshell....I look forward to meeting and working with as many serious artists as possible.
MINNEAPOLIS – The $1.92 million verdict against a Minnesota woman accused of sharing 24 songs over the Internet could ratchet up the pressure on other defendants to settle with the recording industry if the big fine can withstand an appeal. In the latest trial, a federal jury in Minneapolis ruled that she must pay $1.92 million for willful infringement of the recording industry's copyrights by posting the music on the file-sharing site Kazaa. Under federal law, the recording companies are entitled to $750 to $30,000 per infringement but the law allows the jury to raise that to as much as $150,000 per track if it finds the infringements were willful. The jury decided on $80,000 per song.

What it is! I just put up some previously unreleased tracks. They won’t be on my new album “Simply, Soulfully, Me” but they are still a reflection of who I am as an artist. Keep your eyes open for the new album’s release date! Thanks for your time and, hopefully, comments. Be Blessed.

My Brother! Thank you much for your respect and appreciation. Your site is awesome!
I too have followed the teachings and wisdom of the late Imam. Yes, he was a wise man who had a lot of depth. I learned from his wisdom for many years. I think we were lucky to have so many powerful brothers on earth when we were young. So, that we can now stand independent in the face of a world that promotes sameness.
I am only tryng to carry on what many of them started.
Peace and Blessings to you and your family. May the God of all the universe continue to guide you and offer you comfort in the submission to his will.
