Perform at Toronto's 6th Annual INDIE WEEK CANADA and get noticed!
Indie Week prides itself on being an artist-friendly festival that provides valuable opportunities for networking, exposure, and education through industry panels and seminars mixed in with artist showcases. All showcases have been judged by industry professionals in A&R, management, productions, legal, etc. - meaning accepted artists perform in front of industry. The festival is strategically scheduled to take place the week after Pop Montreal and before Pop Explosion Halifax and CMJ (New York) - giving international and local acts an opportunity to maximize their touring budgets & planning by having an opportunity to take part in more than one festival during the month of October.
VENUES
INDIE WEEK works with over 10 of Toronto's top downtown venues including The Horseshoe Tavern, The Bovine Sex Club, The Rivoli, The Drake Hotel, Tattoo Rock Parlor, The Reverb, Holy Joe's, El Mocambo, Rancho Relaxo, The Rok Boutique and more! Last years festival had over 80 artists performing and 4000+ people in attendance over the week.
PRIZES
Each year Indie Week rewards the top voted act with a prize package worth over $5000 (including $1000 cash, recording time, merchandising and consulting). With the addition of Indie Week Ireland the top voted act will be invited to perform in Ireland in front of booking agents, radio/press, labels from European nations.
INDIE WEEK ARTISTS MAKE CONNECTIONS!
In the past artists have gone on to work with producers, managers, booking agents, labels, publicists, lawyers - as a result of meeting at Indie Week. Having industry judges at showcases ensures industry in the room. Artists must impress!
Alright Alright is comprised of four kindred rock n’ roll spirits. Drawing on influences ranging from The Clash to the sounds of 1960’s Motown, Alright Alright has created their own unique style of sonic noise that makes you want to move. The band’s first E.P. entitled “Is this a Lion or a Factory?” is filled with those classic two-and-a-half minute rock songs that are non-stop action and are guaranteed to get stuck in your head for the rest of the night.
