The tale of Indigo Streak began way back in October 2004 in the land of Essex. The tale began with a drummer known as Thomas William Figg and a pianist called Benjamin Ian Perry. These two young musicians decided to form a band and regularly went to the music department, of William De Ferrers, after school to jam together. These two young men were regularly combining with other musicians to try and complete the band but this system of experimentation did not bring the finished article.
The bands first real step occured when Ben Perry picked up an electric guitar and came out of nowhere with some real catchy riffs. It was decided at this point that Ben should also play guitar for the band. At the same time Jack Benjamin Bilbo Clayton, who was the best of friends with both Thomas and Ben, was learning to play bass guitar. It was not realised at the time that these three would be the Indigo Streak of today.
After many months of hard, blister inducing practise, Jack was good enough to join the band that was now instrumentally complete. The threesome were churning out some real energetic sounds but the vocal position of the band was still vacant.
It was agreed that Mr Ben Perry, already guitarist and songwriter for the band, would sing after he sang a song he'd written at band practise called "Playwritten Life". This song would be the first song the band completed as a threesome.
The trio have changed their style considerably through the time they've been together, and are now writing songs that could be summarised as Indie Pop with elements of rock. They have played at various places throughout Essex and London including The Twist(Colchester) The Square (Harlow) and Barfly (London) aswell as many others.
Indigo Streak have come along way and now have finally settled on a sound that they can call their own.
