For many years I have been involved with musical production and many have been the subjects, since plain ear training coaching till orchestral composition. However, what moves me the most is composing songs. Maybe because I ever need the company of words. Including my instrumental work is plenty of secret words. Maybe the reason is my passion for human voice sonority, all those fresh and unexpected tales that come from any single sung sound.
I am from Brazil where I had some grateful experiences teaching music in some universities and leading some groups of pop music, some songs recorded, also no many but very especial concert nights, which brought me up during my musical journey.
I cannot define my musical style yet, though, when asked, I have been used to say that my music is somewhere in between Amazon River and Messiaen's birds. I love some colors, purple and light green dissonances, also tonal music but not the logical one. Something to say about time, deliberately breaking musical clock, living the transitoriness.
I had some teachers, important ones, but nowadays my actual teachers come from the past. They are Stravinsky and Webern, Gesualdo, Berio and all Brazilian folk music. Currently I am researching compositional techniques, writing vocal music, some cantigas d'amigo, working on my PhD project in music at London University, and looking for newest musical experiences.
