About me: The Indy Jazz Jam was started by Bill Lancton and Kate Cardwell because Kate kept complaining that there were no jazz jams for her to attempt her fancy new ii-V licks in a live setting, for better or for worse. Bill wisely suggested starting our own jam. Deano at Deano's Vino in Fountain Square was kind enough to offer his restaurant as a venue, and voila! Jazz Jam! All levels, all ages, come and join the fun. We'll play a lot of standards, jazz blues, latin, some bop if I can get Freight Trane at tempo, etc. Bring your fake books, bring your instruments, bring your friends, just come and help make this a success! Any questions, suggestions, thoughts, tune suggestions, drop us a line. And pass on the word!
Who I'd like to meet: Jazz enthusiasts and fellow local musicians looking to broaden their musical horizons in a non-competitive all enclusive environment.
Bill, Your brotha is doing fine, except the fact he's got poison ivy on places I'd rather not mention. See you @ Deano's next Tuesday for the next great "INDY JAZZ JAM" . Thank you for a successfull event. Cheers Deano
Looking forward to this coming Tuesday (April 3rd) at Deano's!!! Hope to see everyone there. Don't forget, we will be providing amps, so don't bring one! Just bring your axe, your good vibe, and your enthusiasm. Take a look at the blog for some tunes that we will be doing, and that you can be doing...of course there are tons more...this is just the short list.
