Influences
Generally I like to listen to different styles of music which unfortunately ( or fortunately ) usually results in me not knowing what to say when people ask me: " What kind of music do you write? ". I think it's more about a certain atmosphere than about style. Though I very much appreciate being given the opportunity to really lose myself in a very sad song ( and don't most songs come from a place in our heart where we're sad or helpless or doubting ) I'm also very fond of artists who can make a sad song not sound too depressing or even write a happy song once in a while.

What my dancing looked like - or at least sort of - you can see for yourself. I decided to upload this video for everybody who's interested in what I did before I made music. Especially in L.A. it happened repeatedly that I told people "I dance" and they thought "She strips" - well, I did not.
I officially quit dancing in 1998. This video was shot in 2001, so I'm not really in great shape anymore - but it's the only video I've got. I was doing a friend a favor for his birthday party. That means: Everybody out there who knows about pointed feet, turned out hips and high legs forgive me some technical insufficiencies.

Ines Cagle was born and raised in East-Berlin.
She started dancing at the age of 7 and caused her parents to develop strong nerves spending her afternoons off singing whatever came across her thoughts. At about 16 she started taping her first tracks going back and forth between her and her parent's tape recorder. Being a shy girl she found that this was one way to speak her mind.
Later she decided to turn talent into profession and attended a musical-school where she was taught dancing, singing and acting which she continued doing throughout Germany and during a two years' stay in Los Angeles. She was a member of the "Manuel Mandon Dance Company" ( "M.M.Dancers" ) and Winifred R. Harris' "Between Lines" Contemporary Dance Company and appeared as a singer/ dancer in industrials, fashion shows, galas and TV-shows. After having given up dancing because of a back problem she spent the last years really focussing on live music.
Though dancing really was her first love the songwriting proved to be a good companion throughout the years and through all changes. Maybe even the best..........
