Downtown Boys - the new single from Infernal has starting out very very well in their home country Denmark and Infernal have just put the finishing touches to their much-anticipated new album “Electric Cabaret”, which is due for release on 11 August 2008 in Denmark. The album features 14 well-produced numbers, all feel-good pop songs with a bold retro aspect, a tribute to the good old days of disco.
The past few years have been something of an emotional roller coaster ride for Paw and Lina, something that “Electric Cabaret” does not attempt to hide. With immense passion and personality, the songs put into words the fantastic, and yet also highly emotional stage in their lives that Infernal are at right now.
But what also shines through is the fact that things have never been better for Paw and Lina. It takes courage to dare to defy the current trends, to go for it and do exactly what feels right to you. They have achieved tremendous success in the wake of BBC Radio 1 coining the phrase “gay disco”, which would turn out to be Infernal’s trademark – especially abroad. And disco is exactly what awaits the listener when Infernal’s fourth album in a row hits the turntables. The production is divine and sounds fantastic. Not least because on “Electric Cabaret”, Infernal have had the courage to use the musicians from their own excellent tour band that travels to concerts all over the country together with Paw and Lina. The harmony between the music and Lina Rafn’s enchanting vocals is better than ever, with a beautiful union of programming and more “real” instruments than ever before featuring on the album.
“Downtown Boys”, chosen as the first single from the album, has been in the top 10 of the official airplay chart week after week, peaking at 1, directly reflecting the track’s immense popularity on radio stations. “Downtown Boys” has already gone gold and peaked at 2 on Tracklisten, the official Danish download hit list. On Danish radio station P3’s Tjekliste (Check List), listeners voted “Downtown Boys” straight into third place, and Infernal has achieved fantastic results at clubs too, having topped at 3 on the official club list, Dancechart.dk.
Infernal’s last album “From Paris to Berlin” went double platinum in DK, with over 60,000 albums sold. And the singles “From Paris to Berlin”, “Ten Miles”, “Self Control” and “I Won’t be Crying” all went platinum too. In July 2007, the album celebrated its second year (104 weeks) in the charts, having peaked at 1. Several of the singles from the album are still played regularly on TV and radio stations in spite of the fact that the album is now four years old.
Infernal’s music has been released in 35 countries, making the pop duo Denmark’s greatest musical export success in 2007. Infernal has sold a total of 1.7 million units, divided between 1.4 million singles and 300,000 albums throughout their career and can boast that the single “From Paris to Berlin” features on 2.5 million compilations all over the world.

Jeg har snart brugt mange timer på at vente til jeres koncerter - men ved I hvad? Det har været det hele værd! Jeg ville ha' ventet den dobbelte tid for at se jer, om så jeg fik det halve show? Det er jer live, er som at skære sit navn i et træ, et minde som aldrig forsvinder! Og på den fede måde! I er de største idoler, at jeg har fået muligeheden at møde jer, har kun gjort at jeg ser endnu mere op til jer! I er altid søde, og nede på jorden. Tak for I er til! - Jeg glæder mig til 11. august + de koncerter jeg skal til, til sommer og efteråret :) Og selvfølgelig tager min mor med ;) Vi ses om en måneds tid, Ida :)
