Jerrod Balzer and me.
Rick and Precious. August 8th, 2008. Saturday.
This guy was holding this cable to one of the MASSIVE balloons at the Forest Park Balloon Glow. I didn't know, when he asked me to share the line, that we would BOTH be choking the chicken. Rick told me when I stepped away from him. 09-19-08. Friday.
This is soooo cool, I don't EVEN know what to say about it. DUSTY ZOMBIES (freakin' weird puppets!) singing "Dust In The Wind"? I can't tell you how cool this is. Watch it now!!
"Hercules And The Hydra." Mathias Gasteiger. German. Bronze. 1921-1930. This statue (St. Louis Art Museum) is a moment caught in time. This warrior is violently clubbing this Hydra, trying to save his own life. Does he win? We will NEVER know. Awesome structure; flawless in its execution.
Rick and Precious. August 8th, 2008. Saturday.
Taken on June 22nd, 2008. Sunday evening. "Dead World" and me, just chillin'. Try to find this comic ANYWHERE.
This book will stalk you! "THE RUINS" and the dog.
Take a gander at this lovely statue of the RECLINING PAN. 1535 ad. Picture taken 08-20-08. Wed. The Saint Louis Art Museum.
Rick believes that the reason this statue is so hard to photograph JUST RIGHT or it SEEMS to move right after you take pictures of it, thus being weird and blurry, is because the statue is possessed. Heh-heh. I, on the other hand, believe it is MERELY a statue. I think.
Take a gander at this "Ultimate Peep Show." Warning: nasty picture!
Nate & I. I love this boy as if he were my REAL son.
I must warn you, before you watch this funny video (below) by Crispin Glover; never watch this with a drug-enhanced mind. It will already warp your mind, with no help from enhancements! "Clowny Clown Clown." It's on the CD (buy it at crispinhellionglover.com) by the actor. Oh, yeah, he really has a CD. I love it, and so will you! If I told you that Barnes and Barnes do the music for the CD, would you know who that was?
This was a great day at the St. Louis zoo with some friends from work. 04-02-07. Monday.
The video below is one of the funniest things I have EVER seen. It makes me laugh a lot! It's short, but hilarious. An ideal prank from Brazil. Watch it now!
I LOVE film, especially genre flicks like zombie movies. In my opinion, "Shaun Of the Dead" is the greatest zombie film of ALL time. Numero Uno! But, that's just MY opinion. I am a name dropper; if I like something, my friends always know it. Fight Club... rocks...every...time...I...see...it!
"Donnie Darko"-both versions-blew me away! Four extraordinary films I have seen lately are "Born Into Brothels", "The Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill" (two AWESOME documentaries), "Immortal" (French, English-speaking film; think of it as a distant cousin to "Blade Runner") and the brilliant frickin' masterpiece of a marionette film, "Strings" (everyone who sees it wants to buy it, so just do that). The trailer is up on YouTube, but embedding is withheld upon request. Damn! DON'T miss this brilliant, heart-wrenching film. If you have feelings, you will be crying like a baby.
This is Rick with his "Precious". 2-11-07. Sunday.
Sorry, Mr. Lucas, but "Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope" holds second place. You gotta give it up for my favorite film of all time, "American Graffiti." ...sorry, george.
In my small opinion, there have been some films in the last few decades that have jerked me awake. Babe, Nightmare Before Christmas, Shaun Of the Dead, Blade Runner, Clerks.
(Clerks is actually THE film that kicked me in my ample ass and made me realize that ALL of the tools for making films are now in the hands of the average, and not-so-average, budding filmmaker.)
Richard Linklater's brilliant "Waking Life." "Murderball" flows like a scripted movie, but isn't. The Budhist Film, "The Wheel Of Time" is breathtaking-I rented it from Blockbuster ... Same place I rented "How To Draw A Bunny"-another amazing ducumentary about an artist called Ray Johnston. Films that woke us up and went places we didn't EXPECT them to go, maybe. Check out "Unknown White Male." It's a documentary about a guy who gets on a bus one day and has complete, retrograde amnesia. It turns you on your head about what makes up a sense of identity. Guy Maddin's brilliant, flawless, Neo-Shakespearean Magnum Opus, 1992's "Careful."
Tony Soprano exists in a strong story arc. Daring, and downright repulsive, at times. Love "Ab Fab" and "Band Of Brothers." "Monty Python" STILL makes me laugh.
I'm a huge fan of the original, 1960's "Outer Limits." "Deadwood" is frickin' awesome! I LOVE "Entourage", also. I think "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" is the greatest show for kids, ever. Love "Upright Citizen's Brigade" & "Mr. Show".
This next video is Andrew Dice Clay on CNN. I laugh really hard at this moment of pure television chaos, captured live!
This was taken 2-11-07. Sunday.
This is the old fogey, too. 2-11-07. Sunday.
Tower Grove Park. 2-11-07. Sunday. No, it was NOT cold. Heh-heh.
I want to network with all kinds of folks that can help me get these weird little "things" I have written made into films. I have begun preproduction on some horror shorts I will film soon on my mini DV camcorder.
A BRIEF explanation of my presentation of "INFERNUS."
"INFERNUS" Chapter One, Part One.
"INFERNUS" Chapter One, Part Two.
"INFERNUS" Chapter Two.
"INFERNUS" Chapters Three-Six.
"INFERNUS" Chapters Seven and Eight.
This guy wrote a pretty good Hell novel. I think this is the first in the series. Check it out.
The first book in the Beast House books. Thanx to Jerrod Balzer for the recommendation. This is messy horror at its best.

OF COURSE I don't have to EVEN mention these, right? If you don't know how INCREDIBLY cool these are, PLEASE pick up Volume One of Robert Kirkman's "The Walking Dead" RIGHT NOW. They just couldn't be more highly recommended by THIS zombie lover!
If you don't have this book yet, go out and buy it NOW! We're in "Fido" territory here. Yeah, it's a zomedy or zom-com, but hideous things happen in it. Inexpensive paperback ($14.00) and 310 pages. I JUST finished this book, and let me tell you, this is THE weirdest book (period!) I've read since "Monster Planet." Yeah, they are both amazing zombie novels, but I've read a LOT of books between these two (and most of them were NOT zombie novels), so for me to say it is THE weirdest I've read since that book is saying something. I was outside myself sometimes reading this "adventure" where the viewpoint of the novel is from the perspective of the decomposing zombie. Highly recommended by this zombie lover.
This guy's work is pretty solid. Kind of a mix between good mysteries and a horror novel. A little bit of both but definitely no mere "mystery" book. These are the first two (shown in order) and I'll be reading the third paperback real soon. If you know what the "Body Farm" is, these titles will intirgue you even more.
What do zombies and Metallica have in common? Some of you already know! "All Nightmare Long."
In my humble opinion (and who-in-the-hell gives a flyin' crap about MY opinion?) "SHAUN OF THE DEAD" is the greatest zombie film ever made. Now, WHERE is the Blu-Ray version of this incredible movie? Why IS Universal Studios sitting on this goldmine? Hmmm, makes you think, don't it? Boy, do I wanna see this cult classic in 1920 x 1080 high-def!
THIS IS AN ILLUSTRATION (by me) FOR CHAPTER 15 OF "INFERNUS."
This is an illustration by my buddy Gregg Taylor, of the same tree in chapter 15 of "INFERNUS." Copyright 2008 Gregg Taylor.
....
..........I'm a late bloomer who is ready to film my written stuff.
"CHAINSAW MAID." A claymation ZOMBIE short film. Whoo-hoo! This was pretty cool!
....
This was taken, by Rick, on 9-15-07. Saturday. The Forest Park balloon race in St. Louis!

The demon pictured here, is (in a cartoony way) much of what I had planned for the demons in "Infernus."
I'd like to meet, in no particular order: Kevin Smith, George Lucas, George A. Romero, Peter Jackson, Wendy Carlos, THE Weinstein Bros, THE Wachowski Bros.
A FUTURE TATTOO FOR RICK!
....
Hell, I might as well dream BIG, if I'm gonna make a wish list: I'd LOVE to meet Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright ("Spaced," by the way, is REALLY funny, and well-written!), and me favorite zombie, Ed, uh, I mean, Nick Frost. Oh, well. The list could go on forever.
I'm in a serious, committed relationship; very happy. Gay, in fact.

Three and a half million people held their breath and waited, on the surrounding beaches and causeways, for Discovery's scheduled launch after sunset.
Sharing the joy of that moment...
Let your dreams soar up and out into the universe...
If you can hold your dreams in your thoughts then you CAN hold them in your hands.
Believe in the power of you my dear friend Mikey.
hugs, Kathleen :-)

I'm glad you recognize the intentional detachment John is SUPPOSED to have with the rest of the world as he views other Humans as mere collections of variables, shapes or annoyances.
I've received some understandable descent from the lack of an emotional connection with the character... but I think this was just one of those stories where building a connection would be counterintuitive to the character himself.
I'm going to read your new story now.
