Most saints say you had better forget about yourself and love other people. The truth is that you must FIRST accept yourself with all your mistakes - all of your so-called sins, the times you've looked like a fool; the times you've behaved inappropriately.
You must be able to first forgive your own shortcomings and unconditionally love yourself enough to stand before the entire world without feeling a need to make excuses for yourself.
What it all boils down to is simply unconditional love anyway.

My preference is spiritual works, books on quantum physics, the metaphysical, inspirational. I don't normally read novels although occasionally will enjoy one such as the Davinci Code or Angels & Demons with strands of truth worth learning. Some of my favorites have been A Course In Miracles, The book of Enoch, The Gospel of Mary Magdeline, the Forgotten Books of Eden, the Quran, The Torah, The Bible, many works by and about Edgar Cayce, Kahlil Gibran, several by Carolyn Myss, Osho The Holy Science, Upanishads, The Dead Sea Scrolls, Celistine Prophecy, The Bhagavad Gita, The Eightfold Path of Buddhism, the Quaran. Everything I can find on life after death and enlightenment; various books on Gnosticism. I've come to this conclusion: GOD IS TOO BIG TO FIT INTO ONE RELIGION!
I've also learned that religion means very little and Spirituality is everything.

The Wee Ones.
They have not yet forgotten what true joy is.

Children come into the world without worldly knowledge perhaps, but full of unearthly wisdom. As they grow and develop and are increasingly exposed to life in the body, they consciously forget the wisdom that they have carried here with them. But it looms in their subconscious and superconscious until adulthood. With proper care and nurturing and love, it is almost miraculously brought into their conscious minds to help mold the world we live in.
Children are the most precious resource we have. And all they need is to be loved, nurtured, understood, cared about.... and for us to be open enough to realize how very precious they are.
Children are my heroes. They possess what I strive to rekindle in my own soul.

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your life from Divine presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have, I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the Fire with me and not shrink back. It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
