The group is led by keyboardist-guitarist Ben Morss. On bass is the melodic, stalwart, and dependable Rus Wimbish, and the amazing Dan Davine bangs on the drums with an unearthly combination of ferocity and precision. The band also features the astonishing vocal and violin talents of Lucas Steele, the powerhouse vocals (and sax and Casiotone work) of Tate Evans, the melodic and crunchy guitar and bass stylings of Shawn Setaro, fancy fingerboard work from cellist Joanne Lin, internationally acclaimed violinist Ben Kreith, violinist/violist/airplane pilot David Fallo, and the skills of other fine string players who float in and out of the Orchestra like dandelion seeds in the autumn breeze.

InfluencesSteve Reich to Timbaland to early Yes to the Beatles to 19th-century Romantic music to the Talking Heads and pretty much everybody else
Sounds Likeif electronica, rock, jazz, and hip-hop were all put into a blender and out came a brand-new kind of classical music, along with pop songs that will rip your lips off.

   About The Infinite Orchestra

Soon you will be everything.

They give us crumbs and say
we should be satisfied.
I demanded everything.

The Infinite Orchestra is part pop band, part symphony — spectacular vocals, drums, cello, violins, keyboards, guitar, and bass. The result? Art music you can dance to! Epic compositions with catchy riffs, danceable grooves, and wild keyboard tunes combine elements of rock, electronica, hip-hop, jazz, orchestral and chamber music. It’s like nothing you’ve ever heard before!

Our first CD was released at the Knitting Factory last April. Listen.

Ben Morss played piano and arranged for Cake’s album Prolonging the Magic, played on the latest album by Wheatus (of Teenage Dirtbag fame), and helped create a beat for Mary J. Blige (which never got used, but, still!). He also ran The Pilgrims, a poppy punk band that made the charts of college radio stations nationwide, and played with acclaimed acid-jazz band 11:11 at venues like SXSW and NXNW. And he’s a classically trained composer to boot.

If that wasn’t enough, Lucas Steele was recently in Threepenny Opera on Broadway, and Shawn Setaro used to play bass with the Lordz of Brooklyn. Oh, and Dan can sometimes be found playing in the pit of Avenue Q.

Hey, Infinite Orchestra, you guys are great!

Okay -- I admit that we're biased, since we're a side project of the Infinite Orchestra with a lot of the same members.

Um... if you want to hear a new project with the tunefulness of the Infinite Orchestra but more in an indie-pop vein, check us out!

Hey,

Please do me a big favor and watch the premier of "Damages" On 7/24, with Glenn Close and Ted Danson.
Thats me in the trench coat at the top of the stairs (no speaking lines yet, but keeping my
fingers crossed). These are the same steps, 60 Center Street, that Don Bazzini
was gunned down at the very end of "The Godfather". Anyway, if enough people watch it,
it will get picked up for a second season.
