    When the Nineties where too fresh to know what would happen to them, Forthcoming Fire made their step on the musical stage to enlighten their scene with some of the finest Gothic Rock and Dark Wave known to this date. Their first EP 'Longing for Light' was released on the famous label Hypnobeat/Hyperium from Nueremberg, followed by the albums 'Ekhnaton' (1992) and 'Illumination?' (1993), among the tracks on these CDs where such legendary songs like 'Lovice', 'Raise Your Wings Like Fire', 'The Mask' and 'Feuer'. Switching between calm piano-based songs and fast rhythm synth goth the music of Forthcoming Fire has always been a travel for their listeners and a heterogeneous experience that made Josef K. and his band stand out During the release of their third album 'Je Suis' in 1995 their audience during concerts increased more and more and Josef K's reputation as a charismatic singer also spread beyond their regular fans. Being on tour/on stage with bands like Cassandra Complex, Secret Discovery, Love Like Blood, Marquee Moon, Das Ich, Ministry, Theatre Of Tragedy and Atrocity even the toughest metal heads fell in love with the band. At the same time the musical style of Forthcoming Fire opened up to new elements like the 'Neue Deutsche Härte' movement, especially with titles such as 'Der Unbesiegte Sonnengott' and 'Eure Kinder bringen Licht', which during this time was backed with the band Weissglut (also featuring singer Josef K. and keyboardist Bernhard). In 1998 Bernhard, previously responsible for the majority of compositions left Forthcoming Fire. The albums 'Watching Rome Burn' (1999) and 'In Flammen!' (2004) never found their way on the stage and were mainly collections of unreleased material combined with some very sensitive and still shining acoustic tracks by Josef K. and guitarist Lars Wehr, who then where discovered by the Neo Folk movement. But still Forthcoming Fire was well in the memory of their fans as a unique combination of powerful gothic and industrial rock, mythological symbolism and the multi-faceted voice of Josef K. who sung his lyrics in English, German, French and Spanish language. The music of Forthcoming Fire is a love letter to a gone by era, when Gothic Rock was more transparent in sound, focussed on its melodic heritage from the eighties and also closer to the heart.
