"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead
"Some people," he said, "see things and say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were, and I say 'Why not?'"
-George Bernard Shaw
RFK often finished his stump speeches with this quote.
About me: I am a musician with a degree in classical guitar from the College-Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati, Ohio. After twenty one years in the music business (thirteen of them on Broadway), I got out of it to pursue my other passion: progressive politics.
The result is In Focus Consulting Group, which advises progressive candidates for elected office, helping them reshape and reframe issues and policies, both foreign and domestic, in ways that the media and our currently elected officials have yet to consider.
My first time at bat was also my first victory. I served as campaign manager for first time judicial candidate, Chris Ann Kelley in Brookhaven Township's Sixth District Court (Suffolk Co., Long Island).
Not only did she win her primary race for the Working Families and Independence party lines (the only candidate on our eleven member ticket to do so), she became the first Democrat to sit on the bench in Brookhaven's Sixth District Court in over 30 years. To the best of anybody's recollection, she may very well be the first woman Democrat to hold that post as well.
Who I'd like to meet: JFK, RFK, Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King Jr., President Jimmy Carter, Senator John Edwards, Morris Dees, FDR, Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Bobby Kennedy Jr., Arianna Huffington, Michael Moore, John Lennon, Billy Crystal, Johnny Carson, Groucho Marx

Help support our troops by visiting the Military Troops Calendar Myspace page (on my top friends), www. militarytroopscalendar. com or my Myspace page and click the Paypal button. Proceeds go to the Fisher House, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and allow us to send the calendars to the troops serving overseas free of charge to thank them for their service to our country. Our goal is to send 17,000 overseas within the next couple weeks. Thank you for your support!
Unimaginable human suffering and mass animal extinction from global warming. A peak oil crisis threatening economic collapse. A national security nightmare brought on by our dependence on foreign oil.
Thank you for being our friend, supporting our wounded, veterans and for supporting our men and women still serving. Everyone is welcome to add us as a friend.
Thanks for adding me. ¶ People hear only what they want, so facts alone won't wake them; they need inspiration too. ¶ This world's evils have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, & murderers — particularly those in public office — believe we're all separate, motivated only by self-interest, by greed & fear. They want us to share that belief; they use it to justify themselves, to manipulate us, to shape the world's political & economic systems, perpetuating war & poverty. ¶ But you & I have found something better inside ourselves & our friends. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them; we're all one flesh & blood. Let's spread that vision, for until we do our other advances will be minor & temporary. ¶ The war of ideas doesn't have a winner yet, so no one can afford to be just a spectator. Find your place in the movement, if you haven't already; you'll feel better for it. Question authority. Keep fighting, loving, hoping, singing. Hand in hand, we may still be able to heal this world. ¶ For now, let's see if this meme will spread: "CLOSE GITMO BY BASTILLE DAY. PASS IT ON. " ¶ Love, Eric
Just dropping by to say, "Hi," to my new friend! ;D
