Julianna Hatfield getting together with Louise Post and Mary Timony to party.
Musician/songwriter Lauren Doran, a Southern California native, has an affinity for the 90s Boston music scene. Her songs naturally carry a quirky, sullen edge. It was this mix of Los Angeles grunge and Boston power pop that attracted the attention of producer Michael Eisenstein (Letters to Cleo, Nina Gordon, Cruiserweight). Once in the studio, they focused on achieving a sense of duality. Through the intricate guitars and complex harmonies, they crafted a sound that appealed to a co-ed audience.
What emerged was dubbed The Lolita EP. Featuring Stacy Jones – American Hi-Fi, Miley Cyrus – on drums and guest vocals by Letters to Cleo's Kay Hanley and Veruca Salt's Nina Gordon, the influences on this debut are clear.
When it came time to take the project from the studio to the stage, it was important that each member's talent feature equally. With the addition of another local Sergio Gonzalez on drums and Boston imports, Joey Baron on lead guitar and singer/songwriter Stephanie Jacobson on bass and backing vocals, the music’s east-west style had come full circle.

You're beautiful in every way, I know i'd never be good for you. What if you knew my name, in the halls we pass i imagine that you do If only you could see, just what you've done to me God only knows I need a way to cope
'Cause i'm so ugly, can't look me in the eyes I'm so ugly, it kills me everytime When I stumble next to you, I don't know what the hell to do Just want to run away from you, but now I see you're ugly like me
It's easier said than done, forget and move on, but it doesn't work that way, You're into me like a disease, poisoning the core of me. Now I can't feel a thing Whatever you want, whatever you say, I'll be the one for you and you for me
Knock me out, amnesia set in, I never want to know, or feel this ever again Feel this ever again. . . .
I'm so ugly, you're so ugly, we're so ugly. . . . . .
You're beautiful in every way, I know. . I'd never be good for you. I know this seems insane, but I am for you.
Come by and listen to the new song "Losing Streak" from my record "One and Only Maybe", produced by Michael Eisenstein, available for purchase from my page. Peace. Seth.
thanks :) have a beautiful day... much love and peace.
"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." - Patanjali
