INGRAY, Winner, 2009 Ambassadors of Rock – Detroit
Detroit, MI – The judges have spoken.
Before a packed house at the Hard Rock Café Detroit last month, three music industry professionals judged INGRAY the best band to represent Detroit in the international “Ambassadors of Rock” competition, sponsored by Hard Rock Café franchisees. The judges’ decision immediately thrust the four-piece band into the national spotlight.
But this isn’t the first time the band made its impression on a nation’s music industry. And judging by those who’ve heard the band’s next CD, set for a May 28 release, it won’t be their last.
2007-Present: INGRAY
Adisa, vocals, lyrics;
Haris Cizmic, songwriter, bass, keyboards;
Dave Dupuie, drums;
Nermin Selmanovic, songwriter, guitars
Bringing the influences from different parts of the world, group settled the spirits in dark industrial corner of Detroit in 2007, making this a launching point for what is yet to be a conquest of intercontinental rock scene.
With the May 28 release of its first CD, Adisa says the band is exploring the extent of its artistic boundaries. “Our influences are not local, they are from different parts of the world. As a result, I’d say we bring spirit to the stage, a bond of friendship, love, music and live theater,” said Adisa.
The band’s music is an interesting cross-over of melodies that translate on-stage and on-air into a global rock-and-roll experience. Fronted by the Siren-like song and movement of Adisa, its appealing stage presence is as mesmerizing as the ethereal chords only guitarist Nermin Selmanovic seems able to reach. The sound of Dave Dupuie’s thunderous drum rhythms and Haris's mystical bass hooks, complete the band’s overture. This is a band as exciting to see as it is to hear.
From war-ravaged Bosnia to the industrial corridors of Detroit, INGRAY, proclaimed Detroit’s ambassador of rock, is ready for the national spotlight – again. See them at their release party May 28 at the Hard Rock Café Detroit, located on the first floor of the Compuware Building, 45 Monroe Street, Detroit.
