With original pieces, both personally written and produced, this album epitomizes my appreciation and passion for honest music. Now a Bostonian, Ingrid Gerdes was born and raised in Missouri where people say she was born singing. With a degree from Berklee College of Music and countless honors and awards to her name, Gerdes is considered one to watch. Called “The Next Big Thing,” by the Chicago Sun-Times and hailed as “one of the most interesting and versatile singers on the circuit today, both technically fantastic and true to herself,” by a prominent DJ. Her music is described as, ‘The smoothness of classic, Motown-era pop; the grit and sex of Southern-soul; the sunshine and swaying feel of reggae; the romantic mood of Eva Cassidy-like sensual ballads – all one a single CD.” Recently picked as The Best Local Band in Boston 2009, chosen as one of Boston's Best Local Performers by WBZ TV and chosen as Singer Universe's Top 5 singers, Ingrid continues to be acknowledged for her hard work and talent.
