“May I, first and foremost, extend my deepest gratitude towards all of you for coming. Whatever reasons you may have for ending up here, I thank you none the less.
For some time I have been writing songs. I find it quite the horrific and fantastic thing, excruciatingly revealing, but the source of great satisfaction when all the bits and pieces come together. I am very excited someone stops by to listen.
In dreams I get notions of what may be important or fascinating to me at any given time, the dreams are so vivid and I can always remember them. They’re my second reality, and they help me move forward in my reflections.
Inspiration is on every street corner, in listening in on the conversations of others, in being out at sea, watching great movies or going to concerts.
My favourite topics are of course the classic topics; Life, Love, Sea, Death and Eternity. That’s what I look for in a novel, in a conversation, or in music. I think life is too short for cheap wine and awkwardness, so I laugh and cry a lot. I believe that all you’ve loved is all you own in this world. If I had to make a list it would contain the names of some people and a piano.
To play and sing for people all over the world is my biggest dream.
I raise my glass to you, and I’ll try to imagine a huge and inviting and candlelit party, where I get to be your guest, or you get to be mine. Please feel free to write me or leave me a comment. Thank you again for coming by, hope you stay a while. Cheers!”
In my kitchen.
Walking through gardens, parks, forests, anywhere near trees.
Inside the head of superheroes, but never in their shoes.
Next to my piano and an oven in a not very well heated rehearsal space.
In a state of emotional emergency.
Oslo, New York or Berlin.
Out and about.
In love.
Hiding inside my hair.
In restaurants, secretly studying people.
Watching Japanese cartoons or documentaries about the Second World War on my couch.
