The Beatles = one of my most played bands im a guitarist but i love this band for other reasons than guitars not to say that there guitar playing isnt good but for me its the bass and vocals that make them special there vocal harmonising is the best ever the beach boys had also a very good harmonising but for me the beatles done it better, yes it is,if i fell are just a couple that comes to mind when i think of perfect harmonising and for me the best player ever flea is a close second and although hes technicaly better maccas bass lines could have only come from him.

blur = the most underrated bands ever they are for me the best band at reinventing themselves and dont get enough recognition for that every album theyve made has been different from the last and each despite being different tops the charts with the exception of the first two albums they also have one of britians greatest ever songwriters in albarn and a highly if underrated guitarist in coxon
The Red hot chili peppers = love this band never liked them much when i was younger but started to listen to bssm then followed on with all the other albums i only seem to find them listenable with john fru onboard who for me is my favourite guitarist along side coxon for me they both have totally different styles which i try to incorporate into my playing coxon more for his chordal work and use of pedals john for his soloing and licks flea is also the best player today i think his stuff can be so melodic when it needs to be and then funks and rocking at the same time never liked rap much except outkast and the less gangster styles but i can easily listen to kiedis rap and as hes got older his vocals have got a lot better:)
incubus = well this band are just the best when it comes to mellow verse rocking chorus they are great building songs up then slowly lowering it again and eizinger is a very underrated guitarist and brandon boyd has the best voice in rock by a long way
The BeachBoys = as i get older i find myself listening to less rock and more melodic stuff and these guys are all about the melodys they are easy listening but i like it and brian wilson is a phenomenol songwriter and along with mccartney is my favourite songwriter/composer
All the other bands i listen 2 = the police,the smiths,the doves,bloc party,radiohead,muse,the futureheads,the kinks,the who,the jam,the cure,elvis costello,supergrass,the libertines,biffy clyro,fugazi,sonic youth,mogwai,arcade fire,nick drake,jeff buckley,weezer,the stills,electric soft parade, 50s doo-wop bands like the chantels....and many more

There's a fair bit of news from this side - the dark poets film 'Borderline' is being used in Beijing to promote the London 2012 olympics...so that's a bit of a coup. Also - the Gary Lucas Vs The Dark Poets album is doing well...We're currenlty underway with production of music videos - so watch this space! Judgement at Midnight is now officially the most downloaded tune from the some bizzare double album on iTunes.(and all other download sites including beatport, amazon mp3 etc etc)
Also - Gary Lucas has come out to show his political support - and guess who it is...check youtube. com for 'THE DUTELS' (Gary Lucas)
