I’m Sellassie, I’m a San Francisco Independent and Revolutionary Rap Artist and Entrepreneur, Not a Promoter. I repeat I’m not a promoter. But.. When I see a problem, I fix it. And “What’s the Problem?” you say..
It’s lack of opportunity for independent artists,
Its hatin’ in the Bay...It’s hatin’ all over California and the whole west coast, for that matter. From the DJ’s to the Radio Personalities to the Promoters to your fellow Artists that won’t even give your CD a 30-second listen. Quite frankly, that’s weak. And is what destroyed and continues to destroy the independent Hip Hop Game. Which, ironically, got it’s start from home-grown support.
So I’ve taken it amongst myself to create a hate-free, ego-free, get ready for the big-time environment where a top-flight artist can make the best out of an opportunity. We produce a show called WE ALL WE GOT and we book independent artists every week. I’m not looking for artists that have a bigger ego than crowd size. But if you don’t have any fans, this is a way to get some. My showcases crack, or should I say my independent artist concerts. You’ve got to crawl before you walk in this game, ‘cause there is no such thing as instant fame.
With all being said, I believe that independents are the future and I’m building an opportunity where we can experience a culture of support and success here and now. WE ALL WE GOT offers the tools to promote yourself, perform at a great venue, share resources with other independent artists and make a show fee, build your fan base, sharpen your hustle and perfect your craft.
About me; I’m a self-made “make something happen-aire.” I’ve performed with all kinds of major cats from Saul Williams to San Quinn, Michael Franti to Mr. F.A.B, Ziggy Marley to Zion I, Alanis Morissette to The Indigo Girls, Equipto to Lyrics Born, Goapele to Rebelution, Baldhead Rick to Mos Def, and more- you can ask about me, Sellassie. I’ve built a reputation on treating people fair and believing in their dreams and genuinely wanting them to succeed. When you give out that type of energy, it comes right back. I pass out 5,000 flyers, one--by-one, hand-to-hand, and I virually grind harder than any of my predecessors, so I expect the same type hustle and determination from the artists that I book at my shows. I’ve made a career out of that and there’s no stopping me now. Some people might be annoyed with my persistence and drive, but some people appreciate it and it becomes contagious.
And the later generally make it before the former.
Independently, we’ve got to support one another’s music. This is the essence of independent art. You can never be independent with out support. Independent means strength in numbers. That’s the only way we can thrive. WE ALL WE GOT creates an environment for every independent emcee. All I ask is for is genuine, straight from your heart support. I ask for the small things. Forward off my party emails and text messages to your friends, send yours to me, actually listen to one another’s music, give it a chance. There’s room for everyone. If you want this business to be what you want it to be for you, you’ve got to allow it to be what someone else wants it be for them. Help me make the bay area a place where hip hop is in the forefront of global trends again. All I need is for the haters to stay home and the real to stand up.

Presented by Inhouse Talent and hosted by Revolutionary Poet Sellassie, WE ALL WE GOT is designed to expose interesting and determined artists, cultivate relationships, and build community among independents.
