A horrible hate crime was committed against DJ and his partner Dan. July 4th, 2008 – they were brutally attacked.

A neglectful mother’s heavy drinking and homophobia led her to falsely accuse them of trying to harm her children.

The children were not present when men broke through the locked windows and doors of their home. Some have called it attempted murder. We were the ones who called the police.

The police arrived - found two gay men beaten, accused of kidnapping, and only streets away from a recent child homicide.

They didn’t ask questions, they didn’t interview their friends who were in the house. They arrested DJ, and charged him with two counts of attempted kidnapping. No charges were brought against their assailants.

Assumptions were made, justice not served, Investigations not conducted – because who wouldn’t believe two gay men did this!

Many of you know DJ (Lola) and Dan. You know they are Innocent! DJ is facing 30 years in prison. Show the jury just how many of us BELIEVE!

    I heard about your story and it is awful how they treated DJ.
    my sister and sister in law both are same sex oriented and i totally support them and DJ in any case that says they do not have the same rights as i have!

    i also have many other friends and family (bugs :), john Clark they are in your top friends) that are gay or lesbian and will always support them! i hope DJ will receive justice for what has happened to him.

    Hey guys... I have been so frustrated with this ever since the original story broke. None of it makes any sense to me but I do believe this is a major misunderstanding that was blown out of proportion because you are gay! I have thought that from the day I saw DJ's mugshot on the news! Kudos to you guys for speaking out against this injustice. I only wish that I could trust that justice will prevail..

    I'd like to thank you for starting this page. My name is Megan and I've known DJ for 9 years, he is easily one of my best friends and in fact, we lovingly joke how we almost got married. I was there when this injustice occured. Please, let me know if I can help you in any way.
