One of the first and most prolific graffiti artists in Britain, I was inspired by the arrival of the film Wild Style as well as the book Subway Art.
At the time living in my home town of Bristol and painting in Crime Inc. Crew alongside 3D of Massive Attack fame and Nick Walker 'aka' Apish Angel.
Painted my first wildstyle in the summer of 1984 influenced by punk rock album graphics and early New York wild style pioneers such as Dondi, Seen & T-Kid.
I came 2nd in the World Street Art championships in 1989 against fierce competiton from LA, New York and all major European countries later that year I was arrested along with 72 other writers as the 'Kingpin' in the UK's largest ever Graffiti bust Operation Anderson.
In the late 1990s i moved to London at the same time as fellow Bristolian & graffiti cohorts Banksy & Will Barras and have since worked as a leading graphic designer in the video game industry as well as continuing to contribute to the UK graffiti scene. .
T-shirt / clothing design, Screen-printing and hand woven rug making are among my lines of work. I recently featured in and organized the launch exhibition for the Thames & Hudson book Graffiti World and the forthcoming L.A. produced worldwide Graffiti documentary ‘Bomb It’. www.inkie.co.uk
