Kronos Quartet meets Massive Attack haunted by Miles Davis.
After collaborating with Morcheeba on three albums,including the classic 'BIG CALM',Stephen Bentley-Klein was looking for a new challange.In the birth of the new millenium,the INKLEIN QUARTET was formed to create inspired musical vistas reflecting the rich tapestry that is our modern multicultural society.
Their first album"BRAVE NEW WORLD" features compositions by S B-K and explores various mixtures of Indian,Rock,Trip-Hop,Chinese,Jazz and modern Classical flavours.The Quartet are joined by master percussionist Miles Bould and tabla maestro Sirish Kumar and the beautiful songstress SKYE,who sings two cuts on the album.Skye recently parted company with Morcheeba and is about to release her first solo album which features the Inklein Quartet on two tracks.
They have worked this year with many richly diverse artists including Nicholas Hytner at the National Theatre(David Hare's"STUFF HAPPENS" and HENRY IV parts 1&2 with Michael Gambon)Uli Jon Roth(Scorpions),the emerging,exotic Superthriller and also provided special music for Jasper Conran's show at London Fashion Week in september.They have also scored the soundtrack for two feature films.
The Quartet have also been active in Human Rights issues and have joined together with Vanessa Redgrave,Terry Waite,Alan Rickman,Corin Redgrave,Peaceful Tomorrows(9/11 families)American Civil Liberties groups and many others in Washington,New York,Palestine and London to support important situations.
