About me: Hi. My name is Inky and I am the Ambassador of Smiles for The Daily Item Media Company in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Joseph Pulitzer once said “Newspapers shouldn’t have any friends,” but even though I’m made out of newspaper, I have lots of friends. I make friends doing my job every day. I march in parades, and I attend local events and everyone is always so kind. People wave to me and ask for photos, and I’m always flattered when they know who I am. But I wouldn’t be doing my job as Ambassador of Smiles if I wasn’t making people happy.
Sometimes I get to go to schools and that’s always so much fun. I help with our Newspapers in Education program by showing children how much they can learn by spending just a short amount of time with the daily newspaper.
I hope all my friends are keeping up with current events. It’s important to know what’s happening in your world. The best way to stay informed is to read your local newspaper. Most have websites as well.
