| What is the Difference between shooting in Black and White or Color?
I'm asked this question a lot and other then the obvious (color) there is one major difference you need to know before deciding on black and white film or color and that is integrity of your photos. By integrity I mean that ONLY Black and White film is Archival. Color film (no matter what ANYBODY tells you...will over time begin to deteriorate. Don’t believe me? Go pick up one of your photo albums from 20 yrs ago...notice the yellowing that is starting to occur. This can be slowed by keeping your photos out of the sun light, but regardless the deterioration of your prints will be inevitable. And as most photographers will not relinquish their rights to your negatives (and digital CD's are NOT FINE Prints) then you will forever be sacrificing the quality of your prints.
However for those of you who have a love of color I recommend shooting in Digital because you can now consider digital photography as semi-Archival! But remember digital is not Fine Photography. Hope this helpful hint will allow you to make a sound decision before you choose how you would like to be photographed. Below is a listing of my Basic Prices and what to expect.
For 35mm (fine art) photography
Please know that I am an Artistic Photographer...Therefore I do have other sessions available (such as Slide Photography, but this is a long process and will cost more, as it is a three step process.) I can take any picture that you have and put it on slide film so that you may project the picture into your photos. For some examples see my slide photography in my pictures, as well as the slide show below.
Sitting fee $200 (this includes makeup and props)
Developing fee included in sitting fee
Prints (vary upon location and quantity) you may spend as little as $50 or as much as $500 it all depends on what you want in the end.
You may buy your negatives from me for a flat fee (recommended if you ever want to reprint your film). Most photographers refuse to do this, so if you go somewhere else, do not expect them to sell you the negatives; as it is still considered their art. Cost to buy Negatives is a flat fee of $75 per Roll of film 36exposure. If your shoot is more then four rolls I will sell them at discounted prices.
your negatives Will Never be sold to Anyone else….this is guaranteed, if you do not want your negatives then they will be filed in my office in case you choose to reprint at a later date.
Digital Photography
Sitting fee $300 (this includes Makeup and props; as well as the graphic design put into the photos after the shoot)
Prints negotiable and also vary upon quantity
For Digital Photography I Highly recommend buying the CD $100 per CD. Each CD contains 36 pictures.
